"Researchers at McGill and Adolfo Ibañez universities found that spending time in nature, even briefly, calms and settles the brain, reduces stress and mental clutter and restores attention. Through the use of EEG and various Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technologies, the effect is quantifiable"

Holy crap! "Since 2009, the per-capita incidence of Lyme disease has increased approximately 32-fold for all of Canada — with even higher increases in Nova Scotia — according to calculations by Canada’s National Observer using data from the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC)."

You know when you’re driving at night in a snowstorm, and it looks like you’re flying warp speed through space in the starship enterprise? 😅 Well… there’s a particular form of auroras that I call laser beam pulses that creates a similar effect, except it’s Earth, not your car…

“The Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) could weaken under a flood of Greenland meltwater, but this slowdown would be gradual and it would reverse if global warming were halted, according to a state-of-the-art climate model.” Great! Let’s not test it though.

Somber reminder that according to the IPCC, at 1.5C of global warming, a 50-year extreme heat event is 8.6X more likely to occur than in the pre-Industrial climate; and it is on average +2.0C hotter. By the time we reach 2C of warming, it's 13.9X more likely & 2.7C hotter (avg).
