I’m just happy to be here.
Sarah is in convo with a friend who went to their hometown for a funeral and is at a bar and there’s a guy being super drunk annoying. Sarah’s friend sent a pic of the dude, first thing that came my mind was “wow, this guy looks like he calls into sports talk radio shows.”
ANOTHER ASTROS GRAND STRAND (an inning where you record the third out with the bases loaded)
You have to punish them for intentionally walking Yordan here, and I don’t think the current Astros have the minerals.
Had a dream that I was blasted out of my gourd off of psychedelics and went to the fridge for something to drink and there was a pack of mushrooms in the fridge that were screaming at me “WE’RE HERE FOR YOU RYAN. WE’RE HERE FOR MOREL SUPPORT!!!” Very disconcerting.
You just can’t pitch to Yordan Alvarez. You have to give him the Bonds treatment and walk him even if the bases are loaded.
Imagining Doakes from Dexter emerging and saying “SURPRISE, MOMOFUKU”
These pictures are from one of the last times Sarah made Bo Ssam.
Two spicy green chile pork tamales with a drizzle of guacamole salsa then topped with two fried eggs and a dusted with queso fresco and some cilantro and onion and doused with cholula is a top tier breakfast.
Facebook memories photo dump. Shrimp tacos we made 7 years ago, me and Margarita from 13 years ago, a dumb collage with pizza and Wally I made 14 years ago, and my profile banner pic that I made 15 years ago. All on August 2nd.
I’ve been informed that Sarah is making Bo Ssam next Saturday. This is a very welcome surprise.
Brown sugar and cinnamon oatmeal but instead of hot water I use coffee. I call that the Breakfast Twofer™️.
It’s so funny when people are like “sure you’re an abolitionist now but wait until you’re the victim of a property crime.” Buddy, the most useful thing the police have ever done for property crime is put the form you need to submit to your insurance online.
Got home today to discover that Sarah purchased some sorta tree for inside the house.
Fondly remembering the time there were multiple robberies in two days in my neighborhood while a block away 75% of the local police department guarded a giant outdoor Christmas light display.
Here’s a video of someone stealing my $50k+ camper from the storage lot. Even if you have expensive property stolen, the police don’t care unless you live in the correct zip code. The police never responded to my call that the camper was stolen, I had to go to the station to report it.

I’m hearing MySpace may be coming back. I cannot wait to have a MySpace profile page that forces everyone who visits to be subjected to the song Make Damn Sure by Taking Back Sunday.
11 years ago today I volunteered to work another branch on a Saturday. Told the manager I had to leave early bc I was working security at my wife’s restaurant for White Linen Night. He didn’t know what that was. When it came time to leave he told me “have fun at your Klan rally.”
Today’s menu is grilled tablitas, tamales, arroz, frijoles, and chicken enchiladas.
Going to make some homemade fried chicken on tomorrow in honor of Barbecue Inn closing. Sarah bought two whole chickens to fry tomorrow. Gonna cut em up and get them into a buttermilk and heavy spice brine. She’s making fried okra, potatoes, and grilled corn to go with it. I am absolutely amped.
Precipitation is falling while it’s 95°F without a cloud in the sky above us. This isn’t rain, this is just the atmosphere giving up.
Getting pulled over and rolling down the window and asking the cop “are you mad at me?” as soon as they walk up to my vehicle.
Me hunting: Ha ha ha, this rocks. Me gathering: Goddamn my back hurts.
My disdain of cartography is at direct odds with my love of that one song by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
