After a full day of sessions and conversations at #SAA2026, it was great to unwind together in the University’s historic courtyard. With cold drinks, good snacks, and plenty of opportunities to catch up, it was the perfect way to wrap up the day.

SAA 2026 is officially underway in Vienna! The conference opened in the historic Festsaal with a warm welcome from Prof. Laura König and SAA Head Cornelia Wrzus, followed by an engaging keynote from Prof. Eiko Fried (@eikofried.bsky.social) #SAA2026.

On Saturday, our ECRs kicked off #SAA2026 with a treasure hunt through Vienna. It was a fun way to explore the city and get to know one another before the conference begins. Afterwards, everyone came together for drinks and great conversation. The perfect way to kick off the conference!

It’s still quiet at the University of Vienna (@univie.ac.at), but not for much longer. Tomorrow, the SAA2026 Conference begins, bringing together more than 400 participants from around the world. We’re looking forward to seeing the corridors fill with conversations and ideas! #SAA2026
