Just went through an old codebase that I haven't touched in a few years, all of the code written BCC (before claude code). An expo react native app that's 7 major versions behind. Got it up to shape and in a maintainable state in a few hours. This would have taken two weeks prior.
it's so much more fun to start projects than to finish them. I've shipped a lot of software, I'm no stranger to the last 10% but man sometimes I just get burnt out on that and like globbing the early work.

React's Suspense has some pretty incredible engineering in its internals. You'd never guess how much care and attention went into it and it's largely been under-discussed. So many cool little experiments the team clearly ran to get it into its current shape (and some nits as well!).

weird AI coding quirk. I just closed a PR and opened a fresh one with the same branch because my codex automatic review had cycled a dozen times and I wanted to start with fresh context. that's weird.
Why does Github not have a flag on commit push to skip CI actions? I'm pushing doc changes, just let me declare if I want CI to skip at commit time. Could be a security vuln for external PRs, but that's solve-able (only applies to approved maintainers).
