Andy's theme for #BirdOfTheDay is #RedOrDead. Any bird with red or a dead branch in the photo without it being on the bird So I've posted a female #BronzeSunbird sitting on a #RedHotPokerTree taken in Bwindi Forest, Uganda in June.

Good morning. The #BirdOfTheDay theme is #RedOrDead, any bird with red in the capture but not on the bird or a photo of a bird on bare winter branches. Alt #SummerVisitors Migratory birds associated with summer or your favourite bird to capture in summer. #birds #photography #ECK

A Meadow Pipit perches sideways on the curved seed head of a dark purple grass, its finely streaked brown upperparts and cream underparts sharply in focus against a smooth green background. The bird grips a large reddish earthworm in its slender bill, likely carrying food back to a nest or recently fledged young. Its alert dark eye and slightly raised crown feathers give it an attentive expression, while the soft, blurred backdrop draws full attention to the delicate plumage and the vivid contrast of the red worm against the bird’s pale face.

Good morning all. For today's #BirdOfTheDay theme I've chosen #FabulousWaders Any wading bird that you love! For me it's the Avocet, a calm and graceful beauty wading along the shoreline! 🤍🪶 The Alt. theme is #Speckled any bird with speckled patterns on its plumage. 📷 #birds #photography #ECK

A close up photograph showing the head and upper body of an Avocet wading bird. It is seen in side profile appearing from the left as viewed with a predominantly white body, black feather patches on its wings, back of its neck and the top of the Avocets head. It has a thin black bill that curves sharply upward towards the end. It is leaning slightly forward looking down having lifted its head from hunting for food along the mudflats at low tide. Taken on a sunny bright early morning, the background is a dark golden brown in colour from the muddy water and reflecting sunlight giving it a slight shimmer. Seen on the North East coast, UK

AB's first contribution to the #BirdOfTheDay community theme is #Firsts Here's a #WhiteThroatedBabbler that I took in Myanmar when I wasn't even a birder, birdwatcher or a photographer. There were loads of these birds when we were in Bagan & ended up taking a photo with my wife's camera.

Good morning All. I thought that as today is my first day, the #BirdOfTheDay theme should be: #Firsts some of your earliest bird captures. Alt. is my most captured; #Robins - Male Reed Bunting, shot in my 1st fortnight of having a camera - The ubiquitous European Robin #birds #photography #ECK

A Male Reed Warbler on a thin plant stalk. The bird is left of centre of the shot perched near the top of tall, dried out plant stalk that is bent over at a 45 degree angle with the weight of the bird. It is turned slightly to look right so that its front, belly and right side can be seen.
Another plant stalk is vertical beside the bird.
The background is an out focus blue sky with two thin, vertical tree branches sparsely covered in green leaves.

Good night folks. Hope this helps you with the week ahead. The rota will just repeat itself, unless one of us is unable to on any given day. #BirdOfTheDay I even put a Kingfisher in for Rob. That’s the gentleman I am. 😂😂

A bird of the day poster with the names of the hosts for the next four days.

Wouldn't it be nice to live in a world that Count Binface could beat Frogface Farage. Would bring a little bit of hope that we are not completely lost to lying charlatans that don't actually have the people's best interests at heart.

Just watched a comp of Odegaard from last season. If we were scouting him we would all be so excited. The guy was injured a lot last year & still was our best creator. If he stays fit this season. We in the league. Simple as that. We are so quick to give up on players.

Dowman has strolled into cup games, the Premier League, the Champions League, and random friendlies. If you've watched, you'll know that more often than not, he's been the best player on the pitch.

This makes my blood boil so much. It is absolutely shocking how lenient the FA have been with Chelsea. It's actually disgusting & bordering on corruption that a club like Chelsea can cheat their way to the top & not face any penalty. Nothing will happen to City. www.nytimes.com/athletic/747...

If Chelsea ‘deliberately flouted’ rules but received no sporting sanctions, will it be same for Man City? (Gift Article)

Inside the football bubble, the rules are different, and the FA's judgment will be seen as a victory of sorts for Chelsea and their owners

Morning. Today’s #BirdOfTheDay theme is #OverTheRainbow, any bird looking skyward. Alt #HedgingYourBets, any bird in a hedge or bush. IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT From Monday, @atlanticbirding.bsky.social and @helenbennett.bsky.social Will be joining us as cohosts. #birds #ECK #SmallBirdSaturday

A fluffy juvenile European robin stands upright in short green grass, its rounded body covered in mottled brown plumage before the familiar adult red breast develops. The young bird gazes upward with a large, dark eye and a slender pointed bill, while its long pink legs give it an alert, inquisitive stance. Tiny white clover flowers and scattered fallen leaves dot the softly blurred lawn, creating a natural garden setting that highlights the fledgling’s youthful appearance and curious expression.
