"Hello everyoneeee!~"
"Of course he's not disappointed in you! He gave you permission to go. He picked YOU. Besides, I'm better suited to stay here and help around anyway." She offered him a tender and kind smile. "Just get going, Link. I'll be right here! And remember! Just play my song I taught you and we can talk!"
Well, there was a new one. "Disappointed? Why? I leave all the time, and he ain't disappointed in me. ...hopefully." The mere idea greatly confused the boy, would the Great Deku Tree be worried? Surprised? Most likely, disappointed though? That was something Link hadn't ever considered.
"I'd LOVE to, Link, but well...I don't..." She hesitated to let go of his hands while in thought. She liked to be here to make sure Mido and his friends weren't being bullies, but the chance to explore Hyrule? Tempting. "I think the Deku Tree would be disappointed in me if I did go..."
His face flushed red, holding onto Saria's hands while looking away with a bashful expression. "Y-Yeah, well...um..." Now it was a quick scramble to come up with something to say back, perhaps it would put him less on the spot. "If you want, you can...I dunno, come with me."
"I know! I just get so sad when you aren't around. You're my best friend, Link." She gently took his hands in her own and squeezed them. "And such a gentleman. Bringing me flowers. You're just like those stories of knights."
Just how did this girl always know the way to tug on his heartstrings? "Well, it ain't like I'm goin' away for a long time! I'll be back, and when I am, you'll get those flowers from me, promise."
"I really hate to see you go all the time, Link...but if you find any pretty flowers on the way, can you grab them for me? I'd love to see what grows outside of the forest."
"Alright, alright, I won't!" He's saying that more to make sure his friend doesn't worry than out of a desire for self-preservation. "I'll head up there in a minute then, want anything while I'm gone?"
"LINK NO! Before we do anything rash, maybe you should try looking in the little town up at the castle? I don't want us doing anything that might hurt you..."
"..." A moment of silence passes, before the inevitable answer. "Sounds fun!"
"Well, how willing are you to hang upside down with your hair soaking in pink clothing dye..."
"Clothing dye techniques? Like what?" Now he's interested, putting a finger to his chin and leaning forward as Saria speaks.
"I hear there's a store for EVERYTHING up in the castle's little village. I'm sure there's one to change your hair! Or maybe you could use clothing dye techniques to change your hair color."
And there his cheeks go, getting all rosy already! "I...well, heh, I knew that- Iunno much about fashion though, I wouldn't know the first thing about changin' my hair color. I wonder if there's a store for that..."
"Link, I won't disagree to a fashion statement, but you stand out enough already! How? Because you're YOU! There's only one Link in the whole forest. Nobody can replace you. Not even Mido despite how much he tries. Though pink would make you stand out really well and I think it'd look good."
He gives a small side eye to the side of his hair, her words striking a chord within him. ...he would look rather fashionable with a bit of pink in his hair. "Yeah, I think you're right! I think pink would definitely set me apart from the others in the forest too, heh."
"Mhm! It looks nice. Maybe not green for your hair though. Clashes with your cap too much. You know what'd be a color that doesn't clash? Brown! Or Pink!" She falls into a fit of giggles just at the thought.
Visibly he perks up, tilting his head at her observation. "...wait, really?" He'd never thought about it that way!
"It shouldn't be too hard, silly! Besides, if you want my opinion..." Skipping around him to be face to face. "...I think you look amazing with a bit of color in your hair."
Saria won incredibly easily, as that caused Link to stop altogether and turn around to avoid feeling guilty. "Well, now I gotta wash it out!" He huffed.
"Aw Link! I was just being silly..." Kicking at the ground while doing her own pouting. The battle of pouting. Who'll give in first?
"Really? I trusted you!" Pouting at her, with the puffed cheeks and everything.
"I guess we do have a distinctive look, huh? I should go for blue next year..." She adjusts her sweater with a huff. "It's really hard to not notice someone spinning on a tree, silly." She crosses her arms, looking up at him. "And we don't see a lot of adults near here so you stand out."
He nods and looks down at her. "I had assumed as much, very distinctive look." Now crossing his arms. "I'm surprised you noticed me, I guess I wasn't being very stealthy though."
Offering a gentle and small wave with a warm smile. "Nice to meet you, Sheik! I'm Saria! I'm a Kokiri if you couldn't put it together, but I don't think it's exactly a secret ehehe..." she gently kicked at the ground, her fairy circling around her.
The Sheikah proceeds to spin on the branch once more, then launching off it and landing on the ground nearby her. "Suppose it matters not either way." Adjusting his garb now. "Sheik, pleased to meet you."
"I don't think we have..." Tilting her head while staring at him. "You also seem familiar! Where have I seen you? I mean, you'd stand out enough to leave an impression, but I just can't place my finger on it!"
"I find my normal day to day fun, for what it is anyway." He doesn't really think about it much. "You seem familiar, have we spoke before?"
"Do you ever take a moment to have some fun?" Thinking for a second before giggling into her hands. "Well, I guess hanging upside down could be considered fun even if it's strange!"
"Technically everything I do is training, it just also doubles as other things as well." Crossing his arms now. "I've been told hanging upside down like a bat is strange however."
Saria attempts to tilt her head upside down while staring at the Sheikah. "So there isn't a reason to do it? Not even for some kind of training? Hm...I wonder if Link does this strange stuff too..."
Now just hanging upside down. Looking down at her. "Unsure. Sometimes it just feels good."
"Gwa..." She's quickly covering her eyes with a shake of her head. "I don't understand how you can do that without getting dizzy! Actually, why ARE you doing that..."
Spinning faster and faster.
Watching as best she can without getting dizzy.
Just spinning on a branch.
