finished sono bisque doll! i'm obviously a couple years behind any hype but i'm surprised i haven't seen it spoken of in especially high regard very often. because wow is it good! such an unpretentious, sweet story without a shred of cynicism and so much sincere passion for its subject. fabulous!

sort of realising that school live! already did this concept only with zombie survival and... generally better. i still like it but in hindsight it needs a much fuller format than 4koma to be worthwhile or really pull off the concept. and i can't afford giving that much time to a gag comic atm.

maybe i've always been behind the curve with relation to it's popularity, but i love bee and puppycat! you don't see it spoken about super often. i always say it's best experienced if you approach it as an anime, it has such a stellar JP va cast who REALLY sell it

something absolutely insane you see in the UK is gardening shows will now reliably have segments about preparing for climate change. "by 2050, london will have the climate of barcelona, so we need to plant different tree, try planting more outdoor succulents"... it's almost too insane to parody

one of the greatest pains i experience in my life is so many manga are NEARLY really good, but fall short in a way they makes them unreadable! the problem is very rarely the art. almost always the problem is a great concept that just isn't executed properly. the author hesitates, and kills it!

this ended up being delayed by a week but i'm recovering now!

i'm having surgery on friday and will be out of action for a while. here's an illustration to help explain based on my knowledge of moe physiology.

random comic page i drew sometime last year. part of a loose constellation of ideas i have using maids as a fantastical critique of consumer capitalism. but maids are so overdone and i can't hold a handle to true maid maniacs. and my other comic is already about consumer cap... so it's low priority.

comic sketches from like 2022? back when i was starting to draw and figure stuff out. i think the concept for this one was a big colony ship running a simulated reality for it's sleeping cargo, but the protag was a clone kept alive to calibrate the simulation with their non-simulated experiences.

finding ongezellig via the online postmortem of the san diego shooter is the most awful way i've ever received a recommendation for media i ended up really enjoying. i wouldn't say i feel viscerally uncomfortable about it but nevertheless there's something really unsettlingly absurd about that.
