The actions of Macquarie Uni are deplorable. They have also been dragged in front of Fair Work. The @nteunion.bsky.social uncovered they decided to go “all the way” in forcing 65 highly skilled ppl out of work when they could have achieved their objectives without this pain.

📰BREAKING📰 SafeWork NSW has stepped in to force Macquarie University to make work health and safety improvements to their consultation on proposed workplace changes. Thanks to NTEU members at MQ who spoke out about the harm of workplace changes to staff mental health and wellbeing.

Gerry Harvey was just asked if workers sould benefit from productivity gains by moving towards a four-day week. His response: — “No, no, no they need an eight-day week to lift productivity”. A reminder: Australians work some of the longest hours in the OECD.
