gah, iphone 13 pro display died this morning. It's still on, but the display won't come on. do I spend ~$300 to repair or upgrade for $1k? 🤦‍♂️

Aaaaand single-file executable Inertia SSR with Svelte is alive! 🎉The hard part was getting Bun to understand Svelte, if you use React this is probably very easy. Once import.meta.glob is supported it'll be a nothingburger no need for node on your server, just scp and ./ssr 🤤

Nerd sniped myself, and I have Inertia SSR working with Bun. Haven't gotten it built into a binary yet but it seems plausible without being too painful (now that I got the plugin figured out) Here's a gist of the Bun plugin to get Svelte Inertia SSR working gist.github.com/saml-dev/4ff...

Turns out this was not as simple as I had hoped 😂 time boxing it now, probably not enough ROI tbh

My favorite thing about Go is how easy it is to deploy a single binary. I wondered if I could switch Inertia SSR from a node process to a binary with no external dependencies... you can. I have it working locally with no changes to Inertia itself. Just a few changes to ssr.js

My coworker just said the funniest thing. We were talking about kids, he’s got 4 ages 10-20. I have one kid, 19 months old, and said I’ve already thought about how challenging teenage years will be. His response:

Working on a growth chart for my wife’s bday, made out of white oak. I made a jig from random scraps to get straight consistent lines with my router. Making jigs is one of the most satisfying parts of woodworking

Great find at the lumber yard today 😍 figured sapele for a great price. I don’t have a project in mind, what should I make with it? I might make a serving board for my sister for Christmas but would still have 2/3 of the board left

Okay so I've got a decision to make. I'm taking over the HOA site for my new neighborhood, and it's currently a wordpress site that is slow and expensive. I want to just rewrite it in Laravel, but obviously someone with 0 programming knowledge wouldn't be able to just take it over

If you ever watch a couple YouTube videos on a random topic and then the algorithm won’t stop recommending those videos to you (like how to fix your dryer) just go to your watch history and remove those videos. Problem solved

They could make an episode of Modern Marvels about my son’s process of eating all the applesauce off his toast without eating any toast

Also as a metalhead I gotta say this instrumental metal soundtrack that’s been playing all over the venue is epic 🤘

I met so many awesome people at Laracon today. Some that I knew from the internet, and some total strangers. I’m forcing myself to say hi to as many people as I can and it’s been great! So glad I came
