Golden Ratio is a cube that draws inspiration from the Fibonnaci sequence - mana can only be spent in increments of 2, 3, 5, 8, and so on. That's not a rules modification, that's a quality of the cube! This is cube #1 of my 2026 project (5 first drafts in 6 months) www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXc1...

I've had a number of ideas for new cubes over the past two years, but haven't found the time, energy, or drive to actually see them through. So I'm tackling the problem head on - finishing a "first draft" of five cubes by the end of the year.
Back home for the weekend. It still works. Can I get a hell yeah
17 years since this card was released and I JUST NOTICED THERE'S A FACE IN THE BACKGROUND???
In wrapping up MSH, I take a look at some interesting rares that warrant discussion, and take a last look at the format as a whole. YouTube - www.youtube.com/watch?v=SUWg... Spotify - open.spotify.com/episode/1Y1a... Linktree - linktr.ee/roughdrafts
I think I am the way I am because I read Sam Black's Big Game/Small Game article exactly as my brain finished developing
in a perfect world every tournament regardless of format is cut to top 8 draft
absolute banger lineup of Universes Within concepts
We did say there were four MagicCons next year... Our final MagicCon of 2027 will be right back in Amsterdam December 3rd -5th!
I used to be bad at sealed. But some success in the format over the past year caused me to reevaluate those feelings, and I came out the other end with a real appreciation. This episode dives into what sealed is about at a fundamental level, including the big differences between it and draft.
Credit where credit is due - the specific Draft overview article for the PT by Marshall is a very good overview of the format www.magic.gg/news/marvel-...

This blurb from the pro tour article is riling me up. MSH is one of the least synergistic draft formats I've ever played. The defining feature of this format to me is that most of the intended synergies are eclipsed by strong on-rate cards.
Out at 4-3 in the QW with a very medium pool. Ate bad soup piles for breakfast then lost three in a row to WU creature decks. I really enjoy playing the QWs, wish they were limited every month!
hosted a random ass friday night DFT draft. Got there with 1-removal spell BR speed ft 5 great rares. Set is lowkey-maybe-highkey goated

Red is definitely the worst color in MSH, but my friend Justin may have cracked the code - Stark Industries Exec, a very unassuming red common, but one that reflects the when, how, and why to draft red.
I’ve wanted to do this kind of episode for about a year now and I’m so happy with how this turned out! Check out the “Draft of Drafts” episode now! Huge thanks to @chordocalls.bsky.social @sampratt.bsky.social and @NicolaiBolas for joining! youtu.be/s8U-yBkH6Wo?...

I've warmed back up on Arena Directs a little - at the very least, they're good sealed practice. Boxed on my first try with this sick jund deck, probably quitting while I'm ahead!
I've been having a lot of success with base-green multicolor decks in the second week of Marvel Superheroes, so this week is a deep dive into these powerful midrange green strategies.
My first MSH episode is all about flying - a brief history of the keyword in limited, and my thoughts on why I think flying is good in MSH despite not liking a lot of the individual flyers.
I got the GUT deck/pool photos from its run at @bostoncubeparty.com over the weekend and spent some time yesterday parsing through it. I was fortunate that it ran 4 times, including one of the t64 drafts! Writing a small thread recapping some results
Today is a momentous day for the workers of Arena! After months of planning, waiting and organizing, our dream is finally a reality; the votes have been counted, and our union of UWOTC-CWA has been officially elected. From this day forward, we have a union!
