Clinical professor of law, paint by numbers artiste, haver of Cookie & Biscuit (small dogs). She/her. Used to be big; it was Twitter that got small.

Yesterday I finished book number 100 of the year! It was Bellweather Rhapsody by Kate Racculia, the second of hers I’ve read, and it was a treat. I would like to thank the authors of the Murderbot, Dungeon Crawler Carl, and Lady Hardcastle series for their delightfully addictive books.

Side note: I have zero idea how to code, so I used a site that does “vibe coding”: you tell it what you want, and it executes. It’s frankly amazing, except I forget that the AI is completely non-intuitive—that is, I have to tell it to do things that are simply logical. I therefore call it Kronk.

Hi all! I spent the summer creating an app to let my students practice legal citation and am now trying to get it uploaded to various platforms. Google Play requires me to get 12 people to test it for 14 days. If you have an Android and would be willing to check it out, would you let me know?

We just binged the Duffer brothers’ new series “The Boroughs” in two sittings, and it was amazing. We were terrified, we laughed, we cried, we fell in love with Denis O’Hare, it was everything we wanted ♥️

Halfway through the drive to and from the vet my car decides that Biscuit—twelve-pound Biscuit—is a passenger who needs a seatbelt. Then it dings at me for the rest of the drive and I get increasingly homicidal

A very smol tan dog lying on a passenger seat WITHOUT A SEATBELT OMG

I commented on a big bin of (unfrozen) freezer pops at Publix and the pharmacist said “yeah, I saw a kid jump into it once” I’m SHOCKED that younger me never had that intrusive thought 😂😂😂

Friends, I’m at a baseball game with my beloved Dad today, and he loaned me one of his dozens (maybe hundreds) of minor league hats: a special event version of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers’ udder-tuggers mascot. The shirt is the Dash’s alternate Tobacco Bug guy. Minor league baseball is the BEST

Just attended a glorious Alamo Drafthouse movie party where these were two of the favors. Can you guess what the movie was? (Snake necklace is mine, just a handy display base for the pin)

Shout out to the organizers of my kid’s current baseball tournament, being held at a high school field, where they forgot to unlock the ladies’ bathroom but DO have exactly one portapotty for every player, coach, and spectator here! Super worth the $20 they charge us to get in!

I’m grading my seminar papers and just wrote in one student’s bench brief feedback “I particularly appreciated how well you understood the assignment, as the kids say, but actually literally this time”

Just listened to this memoir in one sitting. I knew modern-day Dave Holmes was hilarious from his appearances on The Past Times, but he’s also a thoughtful writer & awesome narrator. Go listen to it!

Friends, I have decided for various gut reasons to eat skyr/Greek yogurt once a day for a month. I have obtained a large variety of brands and flavors and shall report my feedback on this thread.

If anyone is planning to order from Lands End, just fyi they’re not actually shipping anything out. I placed an order on April 14th and have been told twice that they are having delays caused by “system updates at our distribution center.” They won’t give me even a general window for shipping.

I just finished my 51st book of the year—all of them audiobooks!—and it was ACES. For the first time (for me) with a fiction book, the author herself narrated it! And she was amazing! I was loving the book and as it wound down I found myself whispering PLEASE STICK THE LANDING and IT DID
