Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be With You
Combine 2 Song Titles 2 make a New Song.
Me: getting on my soapbox about how the doctrine of Immaculate Conception would rob Mary of agency assuming she had any
You: getting pedantic about Alanis Morissetteβs Ironic not being really about irony Me: getting pedantic about how Alanis Marissetteβs Good Weather for Immaculate Conception makes the common mistake of thinking the Immaculate Conception refers to Jesusβ instead of Maryβs conception
Please bear in mind that "closet" in Sam's day meant a different kind of room than you're currently imagining
Most of this afternoon my wife and I did spend together in setting things in order in her closet, which indeed is, and will be, when I can get her some more things to put in it, a pleasant place, and is at present very pretty, and such as she, I hope, will find great content in.
Btw do you actually HAVE to "consult your doctor before beginning a fitness regimen" or is that just some shit they say to cover their asses on TV
If I had a stationary (or space for one) that is definitely what I would be doing Assuming I ever make it past the absolute beginner can't-even-do-one-sit-up phase of exercise I may have to like, start attending a facility
How the fuck do people do sustained planking, OUCH
If I can't do impact (ankle still fucked up), have asthma and physically cannot swim nor ride a bike, do I have any viable cardio options other than walking? I don't necessarily mind walking now that the outdoors has stopped being a sauna, just seeing if there's anything else out there
Some examples re that last one: -exercising will make you feel better (in your body) -exercising will make you feel better (in your mind) -exercising will give you more energy -exercising will make you stronger -exercising will give you more endurance -exercising will get easier over time
Lies I have been fed over the course of my life: -one day your bust will even out -your periods will become regular eventually -as an adult you'll prefer to be productive rather than relaxing -when you're older you'll want to get up early -you'll want children someday -EVERYTHING about exercise

Maybe not THE first, but the first that I definitely remember is the shark chasing Ariel
In honor of scary media month: what is the first piece of media you remember truly frightening you as a child?
I do have PHM and I definitely plan on reading that one as well
I've just now finished reading The Martian (have not seen the movie because y'all know I don't do movies) and god damn

So, when you look up instructions on how to learn to do pull-ups, they start by telling you to practice just hanging off the bar to "build grip strength", but where in hell are you meant to go when you literally can't even do that much
The first time I remember being harassed was at age 12 and it basically continued nonstop for about the next decade
Yes every woman has been harassed, many assaulted. But every woman has also experienced invisible loss from moments she avoided harassment. She felt a space becoming unsafe, so she left, while men stayed on. And in leaving, she lost: opportunities, experiences, learning, promotions, even simply fun.
I don't want to just repeat everything Jacob Geller said so please go watch his video if you can, because he talks about this subject extensively
Even if all other considerations were resolved (which let's be clear will never ever happen) and the only sticking point were choosing the most humane method, we'd still be at an impasse because the least cruel methods are the ones that make the most horrifying spectacle for the audience
I can't figure out a way to make my name scary so y'all get an emoji instead
Has anyone else seen Jacob Geller's video on execution? Feels a bit relevant right now
Unless you're me, in which case people respond to every attempt at riffing on a joke with patronizing condescension like I'm obviously too fucking incompetent to ever comprehend that It's A Jokeβ’οΈ π
on forums before emote reactions, if somebody said something really funny you kinda had to riff on their post in order to express that you thought it was funny or it'd be considered low effort. it would result in whole pages of nothing but good jokes, all one-upping the previous. A Poster's Crucible
Been using Aleppo soap for almost a week now and I'm thinking it might be making a difference
How tf do people know when someone actually considers them a friend
Tbh I don't really understand how people can say 'I got in trouble but it was worth it'. How could it possibly be worth it?? You got IN TROUBLE!
Hey, if silken nightgowns are good enough wear for Pamela
Column: DΓ΄en and Vogue released a Jane Austen-inspired nightgown to celebrate Vogue Book Club's pick of "Sense and Sensibility." The nightgown-as-outerwear trend has been growing steadily for several years. Historical accuracy isnβt the point.
I cannot fathom the logic of this argument. We're apparently not supposed to chip in to provide health care for those who can't afford it, so ... poor people fuck off? Are we meant to beg like medieval lepers? Just sit around praying to be magically healed??
"And he talked about taking money from others to feed the hungry or heal the sick. Christ didn't rob Peter to pay Paul." honey Christ had magical powers
That'd be news to most of the Chinese people I know, who LOVE their GenAI
Mike Johnson says opposition to data centers "is a Chinese psyop. I really believe that. That's not a conspiracy theory."
Has anyone ever written a story about Ezri doing the Zhiantara? There's so much potential for emotion there now that, in addition to everything they dealt with last time, somebody is also going to have to assume the mantle of their beloved friend and coworker Jadzia
I think Ezri had the potential for this but her story never got to be flushed out like that
My *engineering university* had history courses. Nobody except me ever took more than one or two, but we certainly had them.
Am I missing something here? In what universe would an engineering student ever study history?! Do many history students study engineering?! I *enjoyed* history at school, and I was *good* at it. But no way would I ever have studied it at university.
Unrelated fun fact I once starred in a summer production of How To Eat Fried Worms when I was about 9 or 10 years old There were so many of us that I only got to appear in one scene and also we all had to play boys because there were basically no boys in the class and no girls in the play
Who needs gas when your communist government has invested heavily in the infrastructure to support electric cars
This was a talking point that went out to all the paid social media trolls the same day
My personal first world problem is getting a satin pillowcase for the sake of my hair but hating how the texture feels against my face π (got a bonnet too but that baby does NOT like to stay on my head)
