We're sending love and solidarity to all affected by the attack on Berlin Pride. LGBTQ+ people deserve safety, particularly at the very Pride events where we unite together to protest, party and refuse to be invisible.

Message from the LGBT Foundation expressing love and solidarity to Berlin on a light purple background with bold black text: Sending Love and Solidarity to BerlinUnited we will never be defeated. Our hearts are heavy as we think of all who are impacted by the recent attack on Berlin Pride.

News like this can weigh heavy, but our community pulls together, and supports one another. Please check in on your loved ones, and reach out if you need support.

A trans woman just told me that she'd rather die than be admitted to hospital (UK), for fear of being placed on a mens ward. If she was dying of bowel cancer, she would rather let it take her than access care. I understand. Society has become so hostile, dangerous. We must all work to turn the tide.

My heart aches this morning thinking about women's spaces becoming exclusionary of our trans sisters. Regardless of what the code of practice expected today contains, trans people are protected in law from discrimination, and deserve dignity, safety and access to services like the rest of us.

Péter Magyar victory speech: "We want to make a country where no one is persecuted because they think differently or because someone loves in a different way to others." He may not have campaigned as a liberal. But this is a huge change of direction and rhetoric from Orbán’s anti-LGBTQ+ crusade.
