Always striving to improve & never complacent but super proud of this !
We were best in the country for feeling free to act & use initiative, and feeling able to make improvement suggestions. Our results are above the national average & we’ve improved on all 9 themes from 2023. We're working on improvements to meet our big ambition of being a great place to work. 2/2
Congrats to Donald Gilmour, mental health nurse on Norbury ward in Stockport, who is #PennineCareResearch star of the month 🌟 Donald has been extremely helpful with promoting the Vision Quest study into visual hallucinations. He's a keen research champion, helping people to take part in the study.
Ramadan Mubarak to those observing the holy month of #Ramadan. From all of us at Pennine Care, we wish you a blessed month. Please look after yourself and others who are fasting, especially if you’re still working during the day too. #RamadanMubarak
Being a governor is your chance to be a powerful voice for change and improve NHS mental health, learning disability and autism services in your area. We have elections coming up to choose reps for each borough. Get in touch or visit our website for details: www.penninecare.nhs.uk/about-us/lat...
Colleagues on Hope unit have shared more warm words of wisdom for #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek, on the theme of ‘know yourself, grow yourself.’ Which is your favourite piece of advice, and what advice would you share for young people?
Have our mental health support teams been at your child's school for #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek or #TimeToTalkDay? It’s been brilliant to hear so many young people openly talking about mental health. Many have made a mental health pledge already. What would your pledge be?
Our young people’s mental health support teams are out at local schools and colleges for #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek These teams help children with things like worry and low mood, along with training for staff at school. Here are Jenny and Sammi on their visit to Norbury Hall Primary School today.
Greater Manchester Health and Care Champions Awards are open for nominations! We were proud to have three winners and a further four finalists last year 🏆🏆🏆 Show your appreciation to health and care colleagues by nominating someone by Tuesday 11 March: gmintegratedcare.org.uk/announcement...
It’s been a busy ‘focus week’, with many teams standing down non-essential activities to improve patient flow & urgent emergency care. This is supporting people from admission to discharge safely without delay. There are external challenges, but it's about understanding them and how we can improve.
The pathfinder partnership, a new service across Greater Manchester, is providing much-needed support for survivors of sexual abuse and violence who have additional mental health needs. It's led by Greater Manchester Resilience Hub and has already supported over 50 survivors.
Evelyn Asante-Mensah, our chair, and Claudette Elliot, deputy chair, spoke at the 'Advancing Ethnic Minority Women into Senior Leadership Roles within Health and Social Care' conference recently. Evelyn and Claudette talked about their career journeys, opportunities and challenges they've met.
Our young people's mental health research centre received over £300,000 for research to improve the lives of children in care. This NEST study – Nurturing Environments for Shaping Trauma-informed care & recovery - will create and pilot a practical toolkit with six children’s homes in the Northwest.
This week @penninecarenhs.bsky.social we have been holding our second focus week to do quality improvement work on patient safety & experience. Loved spending time with this group of determined colleagues today !
Winter can be a tough time. NHS talking therapies can help with low mood and anxiety, you can refer yourself online. You can also call 111 anytime and choose the mental health option for advice if you're struggling. Check out the #FeelWellThisWinter page on our website for more advice.
Thanks to everyone who gave feedback on our strategy for 2025-2030. Our refreshed strategy is on the ‘this is us’ page of our website and has the same core principles, but with stronger and simplified ambitions: ❣️ Outstanding care ✅ Great place to work 👂 Listen to improve
We're grateful for all the festive fundraising and Christmas kindness, raising money or sharing gifts for services or Pennine Care Charity. A small donation can help to fund activities or equipment for patients, groups and projects to improve people's mental health: www.penninecarecharity.org.uk
