Earlier we were treated to a fantastic @healthhumslboro.bsky.social talk by @saralread.bsky.social where she discussed her novels ‘The Gossips’ Choice' (2020) & 'The Midwife’s Truth' (2023), and how case notes and midwifery practices in historical medical treatises are transformed into fiction.

Last evening we said goodbye to two phenomenal colleagues in Loughborough English. Deirdre O'Byrne and Catie Gill have been teaching in our department for over 20 years and next week will leave us for pastures new. The department will feel very strange next term without their presence.
