I’ve just paid £7.28 for a book of eight second class stamps, which shocked me to the core because I prefer to live in an alternate dimension where a second class stamp should cost no more than 50p. (Equally a choccy bar from the newsy should also cost no more than 70p tops.)

The August bank holiday weekend and if you're looking for a book that perfectly captures that bittersweetl joy of eking out the last few drops of summer while raging at the dying of the light, plus some top tier spice, may I recommend my novel, The Last Days Of Summer? amzn.to/4zOA4g6 (paid link)
