The kerfuffle around the faithfulness of The Odyssey film by its most experty expert reminds me of being in college working on my French degree. After slogging through the details of the Napoleonic wars, we were sent to the language lab to watch large chunks of the Abel Gance's Napoleon movie (cont)

Husband read out the headline about the reversal this morning and first thing out of my mouth was, "Tyler Farms must have called him." Dunno if it's true, but with all the cheating and grifting that's going, the shock would be if it wasn't true. It's why he backed off vaping regs back in term 1.

This is what I have verified about Taylor Farms and this administration: 1. Bruce Taylor met with Trump on 07/16/26. 3. The FDA reversed its previous warning about Taylor Farms on 07/19/26. 4. Taylor Farms gave $1 million to Trump's PAC. I don't know when, but that's what got Taylor the meeting.

Imagine someone (me) who had never seen a photo of the tates before seeing those arrest photos. Such a person would be surprised to discover they are Stephen Miller’s fragmented offspring. And that the pinnacle of incel masculinity is a background dancer in an Elvis beach movie.

Why does everything have to be a biz? Got a msg from a uni about a “pitch contest” for scholarship awards. Pitch an idea that addresses a social problem but it has to be a growable business idea. Not a non-profit, gov initiative, nor gift economy entity. For profit only.

First job was @ Taco Bell back in 1991. Ppl ask me if the food was gross, and largely it wasn't. If Taco Bell is the source, I'd bet money on something being suss about the ground beef. It came in bags labeled "grade D" and had obvious non-meat things in it. I didn't even like looking at it.

Preface: I’m not asking anyone to come to house. True story. I went to the climbing gym for the first time in 15ish years on Sunday. And, do I ever need a glute massage. I forgot I had glutes. See how this goes?

Some Qs about Sugar S2 (Apple TV): When they edit in bits of victim scenes he wasn’t at, is that his detective imagination or super powers? Where does all his money come from now that the whole project was shutdown and everyone else left?

A convo I’ve had with my (lawyer) husband many times is that this is actually how the legal profession works. You can hire a lawyer to build a case for anything. Doesn’t mean it’ll hold up or is any good, but backfilling arguments to justify your ideas is “legal practice.” Judges are lawyers first.

Yesterday’s back to back rulings by Chief Justice Roberts on the scope of executive power are inherently contradictory, and even the right-wing justices know it. The desired result comes first, then the justifications for it are back-filled. My write-up in link in replies.
