The fact we even have this much versatility for one creature definitely needs more appreciation, as it kinda makes the werewolf the Godzilla of gothic monsters in my eyes because of said versatility in designs, storytelling and thematic meanings

Slight update with better syncing, and adding African leopard snarls to the mix, based on the 2023 paper's "hybrid vocal blend" suggestion where it's still possible machairodonts could at least let out similar growls to go along with purrs, even if they can't produce sustained roars like lions

So according to the full OST of the original "Lion King", there were 2 scenes featuring Scar that originally had music using his leitmotif, but got cut out in the finalized release. I took it upon myself to reimplement these score pieces to see how they would've turned out with them Scar's cave:
