We welcome this bold action by the Chancellor to scrap the two-child limit. By the end of this Parliament, 450,000 children across the country will have been lifted out of poverty. Scrapping this unjust policy is the single most powerful step to reduce child poverty in a generation. 1/3

Child poverty costs the UK economy an estimated £39 billion per year - more than ten times the money that keeping the two-child limit 'saves'. And as the limit itself is the largest driver of rising child poverty in the UK, scrapping it would be the most cost-effective way to reduce child poverty.
