Ditch Daylight Saving Time. Permanent Standard Time lets us sleep later for health, mood, safety, education, economy, and environment. We’re a 501(c)(4) nonprofit.

“Bright mornings and dark evenings keep internal clocks in sync, so the body can perform the right functions at the right times. Shifting an hour from morning to evening disrupts this circadian system.”

“On Christmas, the sun wouldn’t rise until 9:12am in Grand Rapids, 9:20am in Missoula, 9:34am in Minot… Daylight Saving Time year-round would make winter mornings dark and depressing across America…” thefederalist.com/2026/07/23/c...

Congress Should Think Twice Before Messing With Our Clocks

Congress can’t seem to figure out how to use its constitutional authority, but it can't resist when it comes to messing with the time of day.

“Permanent daylight saving began in 1974… Americans began their mornings in complete darkness… Traffic accidents exacerbated safety concerns… The new law’s popularity plummeted… Politicians reversed the change in 1974…” politifact.com/factchecks/2...

What happened the last time daylight saving became yearlong?

Did the U.S. try yearlong daylight saving time before and hate it? Yes. Polling showed it wasn’t popular, and what was meant to be a two-year trial ended in a few months.

To my Senators, @alsobrooks.senate.gov @vanhollen.senate.gov, As much as we hate changing our clocks, making DST permanent is moving in the wrong direction. NO on HR139, the Sunshine Protection Act, permanent DST YES on HR9638, the Sunshine For Our Kids Act, permanent Standard Time

“I’m a fan of respecting the sun, having the sun do what it does… If you keep Daylight Saving Time the entire year, in NYC the sun won’t rise until 8:20am. There’s safety issues with that.” —Dr Neil deGrasse Tyson
