NEW: Medicaid and CHIP enrollment has dropped in every state compared to a year ago in March 2025, with decreases as high as 20% in Indiana and as low as less than 1% in Iowa, based on new CMS data from March 2026.

New from @kff.org: 1.4 million Medicaid enrollees may be exempt from the work requirements included in the 2025 reconciliation law across the 39 states that are planning to adopt the optional high unemployment hardship exception.
