tonight in eberron: hired vengeful hyena muscle, rode a skyboat, disguised as conductors, busted down a safehouse door, raided the place, thwarted a hostage situation, blitzed past a harpy and goon squad, did business with the brains of the operation, took a fat payoff, and scooped some of the goods

Pro GM, game designer, writer, creator. Tabletop RPGs are my vice. He/him
tonight in my elf game: swarmed by crystal spiders, transformed into a dragon, flew a pegasus into abyssal darkness, summoned elf angels, disobeyed a direct order from a god with a countervailing order from a different god, debated the merits of the mercy kill, and tried to sever the Nemesis Thread
tonight in my dragon game: mage hand pounds sand, an attempt to appear as an unappetizing baby resulted in a cronenberg brundlefly horror, exhumed a corpse, walked into the mama bug ambush, got dragged to the pit, a shovel knight finisher, secured hazard pay, and delivered The Goods
I've noticed lately that I feel like I'm GMing roleplaying games even when I'm playing; managing spotlight, remembering and applying the rules, helping maintain narrative and tonal coherence.
When you're being mean to me online remember this is who you're talking to
Back from Gen Con, where I dodged the duds, the floods, and the chuds—but never my buds
Honestly give it up to Gencon this year they finally found a way to make everyone take a fucking shower.
tonight in my elf game: frantically prepared for the final battle, hid from the spider god by dedicating to the dragon god, interviewed the elf god, got taken by the trickster prince but caught him monologuing, learned family history, received one god-level spell each, and went down to face fate
reading the new edition of Cypher and the intro almost literally begins "Webster's dictionary defines 'edition' as..."
Literally who is this dude’s friend. Who keeps bringing him onto stuff. How do his connections run this deep. And when will Hasbro’s loyal consumers stop guzzling this shit
🚨🚨🚨
My martial arts studio neutralized their bathrooms, but now the sign implies you have to be actively in combat to piss
tonight in dagger game: entered a sunlit underground temple, shot a giant crystal with a gun, sampled root beer, salvaged earmuffs, released muck monsters from the midden pit, awakened the Worm, went werewolf, talked to a tree, angered the root goddess, and gathered ingredients for a juice cleanse
today in my dungeon game: smashed reanimating cultists, met the vampire lord, one halfhearted voucher and a bungled lie later, fought the vampire lord, blasted him with the sun, reduced him to wall crawling, rehomed orphans, lost faith, had unreliable visions, and raged at man's complacency
tonight in disco imperium 68: made a corpo brat think starting a coup was their idea, a ghost in the passenger seat, reprogrammed a demon by interview, started a splinter cult, surveyed classic literature, the worst person you know was too accommodating to threaten, and fixed a water treatment plant
I will be at Gen Con this year, with my own twist on business cards/zines/manifestos! Hit me up if you see me and I’ll give you one!
I ran Perils and Princesses (by @outridercreative.bsky.social) for a group of moms new to TTRPG from my son's daycare last night and, man, that could not have been more fun. One million percent recommend The Princess and The Dragon. They all can't wait to play again. Hats off Ryan, what a game.
today in eberron: squeezed the rail baron for info, got a warning against intervention (immediately ignored by everyone), did a Tower of Terror, waltzed into a goblin ambush, wrassled a goblin, ignited the viscous green fluid, got dosed with (different) poison, wheelbarrowed a child, and hired help
tonight in my knight game: got lectured by pilgrims about temptation, entered the cave of temptation, got tempted, RESISTED temptation, sealed the cave, witnessed history's echo, had a hometown hero party despite rotting fish, sent epistles, bypassed bungling wallwardens, and met furious peasants
I wrote this short piece on a whim yesterday morning. I almost didn't post it, but I think there may be something here after all. To play is to explode.

Pete Hegseth: "We need our warriors to embrace the Spartan mindset" U.S. Military: *suffers crushing defeat to the Persians*
A Saturnalia or Fools’ Day festival, complete with the class role reversal would probably make the modern head spin
what is the reverse historical dorito? the thing from the past that would blow our minds in a positive way
Um. Holy shit. Beautiful treatment for an incredible game!
