Today’s workflow: performing a uronic acid assay to quantify #capsular polysaccharide production in our #AMR bacterial isolates. Comprehensive phenotypic characterization beyond resistance profiling remains essential to understand key #virulence determinants.
This week we held our final in-person advisory board meeting for the DISPATch_MRGN junior research group. We had a fantastic time reflecting on 5 years of accomplishments and fruitful discussions. A huge thank you to our advisory board for their support as we look toward the future of our research!

With the Baltic Sea right on our doorstep, we are beginning to investigate Vibrio species, some of which can be relevant opportunistic pathogens. Hopefully, we will gain exciting insights. The first infection this season in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania was reported yesterday. #AMR #OneHealth
Molecular biology methods are key to our daily wet lab work. They're essential for uncovering mechanisms behind antibiotic resistance, bacterial fitness, and virulence. Combining these insights lays groundwork for novel strategies to combat #AMR pathogens.
