The Government has announced that it won’t fully fund teacher salaries next year. With inflation and energy costs already running out of control, this means that headteachers will be forced to slash an additional £460 million from their bottom lines and lose as many as 8,300 vital school staff.
🚨 New poll: 95% of NEU members said their schools can’t afford pay increases without extra cash. The truth is: pay raises without extra funding = school cuts. The government needs to act now.
