We file individually so it would be easy to intimidate on mass by throwing the book at whoever tried this . However, if a blue state were to offer a "federal taxes file and collect" service, and then hold back the collective payments, that might be a different situation.

First genuinely scary take on AI, I think I've ever read. Because it's not fanciful. It's not a "singularity" but humans providing the means for millions of small, automated, distributed agents, working together remotely, to do stuff. That's not something you can easily turn off.
