I'm going to be reading a few poems from my book Starman After Midnight tonight at an author event. I haven't read these poems in public before. I'm a little nervous, but that's ok. I always get nervous before a public reading, then it goes away the second I start reading my work. Wish me luck!

Really enjoyed the final episode of The Bear but this scene with Ebra talking to his mentor Albert got me in the feels! What a lovely tribute to Rob Reiner who played Albert and also directed The Princess Bride. Brought me to tears, man.

Oooooo a random email from an editor at Viking?! And written in Comic Sans?!?! And from an AOL email address?!?!?! All my writer dreams have come true!!! I get six or seven of these a day SMH 🤷‍♂️

As I get older, I read more than ever. I find comfort in putting away my phone & reading from a novel for an hour while drinking coffee, or stealing an hour away in the afternoon to read while sipping tea. Maybe many Americans are reading less, but many still read to discover the world, & ourselves.

Back to revising a novel manuscript, one that I started back in 2022. This is my fifth revision and I'm only now seeing what it could be. I think I'm beginning to love it. #writerscommunity

A funny thing I read on Theeads was an author said that their agent told them that em dashes were an obvious sign of AI because em dashes weren't on a keyboard. But any experienced writer knows that em dashes and other fancy punctuation marks and symbols appear using key combinations or ... 1/2
