Trying to survive my ADHD. FYI: I don’t follow back if all you do is repost others; rarely post; only post AI slop, animal/nature videos, or solicitations; or come across as a bot, troll, influence operation; are anti-democratic.

Remember that Trump didn't just promise to slow inflation or raise your standard of living. He said he'd reverse the trends--and make everything cheaper: "Prices will come down. You just watch: They’ll come down, and they’ll come down fast.... We’re going to get your energy prices down by 50%.”

People do no fully appreciate that inflation is a bigger issue to voters now than it was in 2024 open.substack.com/pub/fiftyplu...

I’ve lived in many regions in the US: Midwest/North (IL, WI, MN); East Coast (MA, NJ), South (TX), & West Coast (WA). TX was the worst state. Power failures, extreme weather (heat, cold, floods), crime, indifference to poor, high property tax (almost as bad as NJ), insects, & pollution.

NEWS: Knox County is Tennessee's 3rd largest county, and it voted for Trump by 20%. It has a GOP-run school board known for banning books & approving controversial charter schools. Democrats last night flipped control of the school board in Knox County.

Dept. of Interior has LONG been uniquely structured to favor corruption. Like, that’s its default state. Avoiding it requires serious effort. Trump and Burgum? They let Interior’s graft flag fly. Like, unleashed, open for business, doorbuster sale of your public resources.

Interior officials have been spotted routinely shredding documents and using disappearing Signal messages, in clear violation of the Federal Records Act. trib.al/C3ehaQv

Here's why this is so grim. Folks expected jobs growth to slow to +80k, but we got -23k. Also downward revisions to the last two months subtracted a total of -103k. So over the past three months, the US economy created about -200k fewer jobs than we had thought.

A woman pled guilty in 2003 to stabbing her husband to death & served 10 years. This week, she pled guilty to stabbing her wife (below) to death last year. She’s only 56, so if they let her out in 10 years again, she has time to remarry and murder a third spouse. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/06/u...

Why are so many people preoccupied with defending “socialism” and “communism” right now when we have decades of experience demonstrating that the definitions of the words are absolutely immaterial to those using them as an attack?

Israel is about the size of Greece. I love Greece, my best friend is Greek, but if every single American election from mayor's races on up was consumed by idiosyncratic Greek questions, I'd get tired of it real fast

Why does Trump want to almost quadruple the number of polar icebreakers the U.S. Coast Guard has? (Hint: you need them to mine off the coast of Greenland.) Given his threats to Greenland and Canada, why would Finland even sell them to him?

Dan Crenshaw says students who can’t afford the high cost of food should eat high sodium, ultra-processed unhealthy ramen. I guess he isn’t part of the MAHA movement! Given that Trump and the GOP have caused millions of people to use healthcare coverage, upping ramen consumption is a bad idea.

The U.S. Attorney believes that a "public rebuke" and an internal review are sufficient for egregious prosecutorial misconduct that put my family through hell. My seven-year-old is still having nightmares and panic attacks related to this case. Justice requires transparency and accountability.

Chicago U.S. Attorney Andrew Boutros acknowledges 'mistakes' in 'Broadview 6' case but says sanctions, special counsel aren't needed. From @schuba.bsky.social: chicago.suntimes.com/crime/2026/0...

I want to point out that if republicans were hiding Mitch McConnell’s death to avoid a special election, which they mistakenly believed had an August 3 deadline, they’d have no reason to keep hiding it. Ergo, McConnell is not dead.

I saw yesterday that some right-wing outlets were running stories about me, which I’m used to. But this time I’m going to say something about it, because these were framed to imply that I was aligned with their own transphobia. ⬇️

Far too many journalists seem to be snookered by DOJ's motion to dismiss Davey Hearn's case. It included pictures showing THEY ALWAYS HAD EVIDENCE he didn't damage the pool, and misrepresented what a key witness reportedly said. emptywheel.net/2026/08/01/t...
