OG blogger, podcaster, outliners, CMSes, developed first apps in many categories. Old enough to know better. It's even worse than it appears.

Andrew shell is testing how various feed readers handle websub. Thinking about supporting it in RSS.chat, but not if I have to put a big ad for Atom at the top of my feed. Nice try. 😀 rss.chat

I want soft networks that people can configure themselves that just pop up you do your thing and they pop right off. There’s so much overhead in creating an identity on a service like bluesky but what about just for the little things. We can do that privately, but what if it isn’t private.

The hardest thing for people to get about open systems is that if you move forward, not only do you benefit, but your competitors benefit equally. When one of them takes but doesn't give back, that's even worse. But you do it anyway because otherwise eventually, without interop, no one can move.

My big peeve w Claude Code is that it stops to get permission which means I have to sit there clicking buttons, not getting my own work done. It makes overnight jobs almost impossible. I keep asking it to plan ahead, and it often forgets, with apologies, a lot of good that does me. ;-)
