I’m taking my first brief holiday (two days) in I don’t know how long. It’s for our 20th Anniversary. I’m in Prince Edward County (Bloomfield at the moment) where I’m ashamed to say I’ve never been. It’s gorgeous out here.

Given the history of outages in these neighbourhoods, I immediately reached out for more information. 1/

As too often happens, if there's going to be a power outage in the west part of Ottawa, then it's going to happen in Fisher Heights and Skyline. While there have certainly been improvements in these areas compared to years past, we still need to know why this area is isolated. 1/

Considering how frequently these once-in-a-lifetime storms keep happening, I would love to see a local volunteer squad created. People could be trained to respond to a wide variety of emergencies.

I just spent a busy hour at Tim Horton’s at 250 Greenbank pitching it at the drive-thru window for Camp Day. Hard-working bunch here! Even my wife was a customer!

Today I got to meet Tammy Suitor, Disaster Relief Manager for Samaritan's Purse Canada. When I called her on Saturday, she was in Calgary. Within a few hours, she was making plans to set up emergency operations in Ottawa, and I'm forever grateful. She's here to help, and she's a professional. 1/
