On Arteta & Arsenal were the best team in the Champions League this season.. I looked at the underlying Statsbomb data comparing Arsenal with Liverpool, PSG and Barcelona in Champions League only. PSG & Liverpool show the best balance between attack and defence. Liverpool’s numbers in post 2 ⬇️

In the last 6 games we’ve been below average to poor in 4 of those first halves (could argue 5 depending on your view v EVE) centre backs in particular had a very poor week Those half time scores: PSG 0-0 (somehow!) Southampton 0-1 PSG 0-1 Newcastle 0-1 Everton 0-0 Fulham 1-3

Ryan Gravenberch was back to something more like his pre Christmas form for me (break done him good) Watching it back for Review reinforced this Passes the eyes & data test too ⬇️ StatsZone His movement & reading of the game in & out of possession was top class Huge influence 45-60

Similar shape as against Villa.. Does Guardiola invert 1 or both full backs in possession? Szoboszlai and Jones will sit on Gonzalez and which FB they invert (if both invert interesting what we do) Grav & Mac will pick up Foden & KDB You’d think Slot has a big red circle around Lewis & Khusanov

Both halves quite similar With 15 to go in both halves I could not believe we were not winning The final 15 in both halves poor End the game looking tired - Rogers became so dominant Centre forward misses when level both halves so costly especially the latter
