66 ans après son indépendance, Madagascar veut reprendre possession des terres héritées de la colonisation. Une loi adoptée par l’Assemblée nationale prévoit le transfert à l’État de terrains toujours enregistrés au nom d’étrangers depuis avant 1960. Une question foncière qui intéresse aussi les Mahorais, nombreux à avoir des attaches familiales avec la Grande Île.

C'est d'ailleurs assez fou qu'en France tu puisses finir ton secondaire ou lire plein de manuels de licence sur l'histoire de France au XIXe sans que la question de l'exception française à la transition démographique (probablement unique dans l'histoire) soit jamais posée.

1896. The Venezuelan "Miranda" Map issue, and a Venezuelan territorial claim over British Guiana via postage stamp. For a broader perspective...this territorial dispute began in the early 1800's. And before that...The British response to France during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars.

Venezuela, 1896 (S.C. #138) ...a rather complex map for a postage stamp....but will follow with a map that helps explain.

Am 13. August 1961 begann der Bau der Berliner Mauer. 65 Jahre später erinnert Berlin an die Teilung der Stadt und ihre Folgen. Heute hat der Regierende Bürgermeister @kaiwegner.bsky.social mit Kulturstaatsminister Wolfram Weimer einen temporären Erinnerungsort am Brandenburger Tor eröffnet.

This is the cover of Issue 247 of The Continent. It is dominated by a giant puppet master's hand reaching in from the top right. The sleeve bears the Rwandan flag, representing the Rwandan state.
