Yes! We were right from day one. It is our right and duty to speak out when we witness injustice, just as my brother David Huerta did. We will keep showing up for every worker targeted because of their skin color, the language they speak, or where they work.

Charges have been dropped against SEIU USWW President David Huerta. A win for workers! We won’t stop speaking up to demand justice for all workers, no matter where they were born. We will not be silenced.

Congrats to Prince William County Workers and SEIU Virginia 512 on voting YES to win their union. This victory adds to the growing movement of working people demanding a voice on the job in Northern Virginia and across the country. ✊ #UnionsForAll

ICE took our @seiulocal73.bsky.social union brother Josue Pire-Hidalgo after his scheduled check-in appointment and flew him out of state. Away from his children, his wife, and the students and staff of Farnsworth Elementary who rely on him every single day.

Josue Pire Hidalgo opens our schools every morning. He's Local 73. He's Chicago. He went to a scheduled ICE appointment — and they took him and his family.

Some good news. A MA district court temporarily blocked the Trump admin from stripping tens of thousands of asylum applicants & TPS holders of their work permits at least until 8/5. This came out of a lawsuit filed by SEIU, @32bjseiu.bsky.social & partner orgs. www.aljazeera.com/news/2026/7/...

US judge blocks Trump bid to strip work permits from immigrants

The order prevents thousands from El Salvador, Sudan and Ukraine from losing work authorisation while lawsuit proceeds.

Working people who've built lives here for decades are losing deportation protections. Our representatives have a choice: bring the #DreamandPromise Act to the House floor and vote to protect families, or leave them vulnerable to the deadly deportation agenda. We are watching.

Thinking of all the working people, their families, and their children who can't afford basic doctor visits or lifesaving prescriptions because this administration chose ICE terror and violence over our basic needs. These priorities will never make sense. But it's what fuels our fight.

Rev. Dixon is right, for years public lynchings took the lives of thousands. Today, ICE acts with that same impunity, racially harassing everyday people. We cannot back down and will fight back.

The largely Black, brown, and immigrant-powered contracted workforce keeping our airports running are demanding respect. As airlines double CEO pay, workers are standing up to end poverty wages. Pass the Good Jobs for Good Airports Act for fair wages, healthcare & paid time off.

No matter where we come from, every worker deserves the right to feel safe going to and from work. Today, we mourn the tragic loss of another father, husband, and worker, who ICE gunned down on his way to work. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family of Johan Sebastián.

In Florida and across the country, immigrant workers make up a huge part of the hospitality workforce. As the Trump administration takes away protections from immigrant workers, employers have the power to speak up and demand protections like a pathway to citizenship.

Many SEIU members are caregivers and immigrants from Haiti and around the world who do the crucial work that allow our loved ones to be cared for with dignity and respect in their own homes. It's past time to show the same respect with a pathway to citizenship. www.nbcmiami.com/news/politic...

Will the end of Temporary Protected Status for Haitians mean a caregiving crisis?

With an aging U.S. population and an existing caregiver shortage, healthcare experts say the end of TPS for Haitians will have a significant effect on the healthcare industry.

IMPORTANT (share widely!): Haitian & Syrian TPS holders remain in status for now. ✅ Contact your union rep if your employer attempts to terminate you due to the Supreme Court decision and because of the 7/10 date posted on the USCIS website–THIS IS INCORRECT. Find your local: seiu.co/FindMyLocal

TPS for El Salvador is set to expire in just a few months. As DHS decides whether to extend or end protections for nearly 200,000 Salvadorans, we're reminded of the cruelty of forcing working people to live deadline to deadline instead of creating a pathway to citizenship.

Every move this administration has made to strip immigrants of work permits, safety, and stability is an attack on all workers. These attacks will keep chipping away at our rights until Congress takes bold action to create permanent protections, including a pathway to citizenship.

We’re suing! SEIU and @32bjseiu.bsky.social are joining partners in a lawsuit challenging the Trump admin's efforts to make it harder for immigrants to prove work authorization and for people seeking protection to get work permits. Working people are fighting back in the streets & in the courts!
