Fan of the San Francisco Giants, video games, pinball, the Beatles, bowling, and MST3K. I may be old, but at least I played in arcades.

It feels like I’m still trying to get caught up on things after California Extreme on Saturday. It feels like I’ve missed out on a lot since I haven’t been on social media very much since then. I also have to keep telling myself that a break from social media is a good thing.

Yes, California Extreme was a blast as usual. Lots of new and old arcade and pinball was had, much rare stuff was seen and played, and now it’s time for the drive back home. At least Bay Area traffic is dead at this hour.

Tomorrow is California Extreme, the arcade/pinball show where I plan to attend the entire day from 10AM to 1:30AM for max admission value. I also have to work tonight until midnight meaning I’ll only get 4-5 hours of sleep for the 90 minute drive to the Bay Area. Yay!!! I’ll have fun if it kills me!

As expected, the Giants were sellers at the deadline and there were players I didn’t want to go get traded, but the prospects we got seem promising. And we still have Devers. Giants fans are used to having lefty sluggers who don’t open up to the press.

The Beatles: Rock Band was my first ever rhythm game, for what should be obvious reasons. A shame my reflexes were barely up to snuff for hard difficulty and have gone downhill since. Nonetheless, the game was still a blast to play. It’s just a shame Revolver was never available as DLC.

Some great pics from our extensive new E3 2009 photo collection: the Harmonix crew, plus Paul & Ringo (who they?) unveil The Beatles Rock Band: https://archive.gamehistory.org/item/bcd920e1-b73d-4f57-b358-727a70684fc5

Unfortunately my Transformers skills disappeared in the final four, but 4th place in a field of sixteen isn’t anything to sneeze at. And as is customary, I blow up a machine (Pokémon Pro) after I get eliminated. That’s the way it works.

I had one multiball where I swear it felt like it took ten minutes. I lit an extra ball as I drained ball three but being that the bar & grill was closing, it’s just as well.

I’m glad the Giants finally won again, but shouldn’t the final score be 6-8 since Devers hit the bases loaded ground rule double in extras? Or did he not touch second due to celebrating? I don’t want the final score to be… I’m not saying it…
