Spent the day kicking off preparations for Spring I/O 2027 with Jorge Rigabert at our new home in Valencia. Mark the dates: 28-30 April 2027. It's going to be a great edition. See you in Valencia!

And just like that… Spring I/O 2026 is a wrap! I enjoyed every single moment last week, incredible talks, packed rooms, hallway conversations and a community that keeps proving why this conference is so special.

if you're coming to @wasm.io in Barcelona, or are in or around Spain and could come but can't buy a ticket: I've got two tickets!! This is the best #webassembly conf there is. The first two people from whom I receive a communication here or at hachyderm.io/@squillace will get one of those tickets.

It’s happening. Yesterday at the Spring AI workshop, a Python developer told me his company decided to build their AI platform with Java+Spring AI. He mentioned the transition was smooth. We'll see more and more AI apps on the JVM. This is your sign to explore Spring AI.

Thank you for having me one more year @talentarena.bsky.social , it was inspiring to see so many people interested in Spring AI, we covered a lot of ground: the main building blocks, workflow patterns, agentic patterns, agentic protocols, all possible with Spring AI!

In the early days of @springio.net, I barely received any Spring Security related submissions, which I always missed. But this has completely changed in recent years. Security is not an afterthought anymore. What security concern didn't exist for you 5 years ago but does now?

Currently drafting the Spring Boot 4 / Java 25 migration plan for my current customer. How is your migration plan coming along? I've been testing with the different milestones and RCs, but now it's time to make it real!

Heard from a developer today: "I ran out of AI credits and can't continue the task." It's concerning to see devs can't ship code without AI. Will this become the norm for the next generation? We're told AI gives us a productivity boost, but maybe we're becoming too dependent.

🎾 Nice combo for 2026! Spring I/O 2026 will take place the same week as the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell, one of my favourite weeks of the year as a tennis lover. I never miss the tournament! If you join Spring I/O, you can also catch some world-class tennis right next door.

Spring Framework 7.0.0 dropped last week, laying the foundation for the next generation of Spring apps. Coming up this week: Spring Security 7.0.0 Spring Integration 7.0.0 Spring GraphQL 2.0.0 Spring Kafka 4.0.0 Spring AMQP 4.0.0 (among others) And of course, Spring Boot 4!🔥
