Firebirds in their true forms are 9ft humanoid creatures. Unlike some depictions made, they resemble a sharp-eyed eagle, rather than an elegant pheasant. Most do have a head crest variation. Their bodies are covered in vibrant feathers, ranging from reds, to oranges, to yellows. 1/3 #Critterary

Here's a new one I created as a demonstration for The Broadmoor Galleries' "9th Annual Broadmoor Art Experience" a few weeks ago. The event is held at The Broadmoor Resort in Colorado Springs in July and includes artists from all over the country. "Just Chillin'," oil, 16"x12".

Firebirds do have variations of their name in Slavic regions, which would be the most accurate to them. Other than that, they don't go by any other name. The legend of the phoenix, fenghuang, etc. actually came from *them*, but there is only one type of 'firebird'. 1/2 #Critterary

Welcome again everyone for another round of critter nonsense! I'll be, as usual, using Lights of the North to vague post about again 😅 The creature I've chosen to yap about this month are firebirds! They're one of the more detailed beings in my story, so I might as well! 🐦 #Critterary
