Oh hey, netbook I haven't turned on since 2013 and still runs Windows XP. What might be on you that I've completely forgotten about but should either transfer to an external HD or delete before I take you to the computer shop for recycling?

People who never pay their invoices when issued & then are all righteous indignation/OH YEAH PROVE IT when I tell them there's an outstanding balance on their account are today's reason why I'm developing an ulcer. (Not really. Not as far as I know. But if an ulcer happens, I won't be surprised. )

When the city trimmed the ditches yesterday, per the ISP technician who came out to investigate why my internet is down, they also trimmed the cable that delivers the internet to my house. When will they have it repaired? TUESDAY.

Spent a lovely midday on the back porch! No appearance from the under-porch groundhog today. A week ago that corn was less than half as tall; I wonder how much it grew since I've been out here?

A view from a wooden porch, shaded by a floral umbrella and nearby tall trees, across a sunny, neatly-mowed yard to a field of growing corn. The cornstalks are about 5.5 feet tall. In the distance, visible above the corn, are the tops of a copse of trees. The sky is a bright, cloudless blue.

Below is a screenshot from the website for the Concerned Parents Association of London & Area. That's the London in Ontario, Canada. Who can find at least three things wrong with the picture this (ostensibly) Canadian organization decided to use on their website? #ldnont

A picture of a sunny classroom with old-timey wooden desks and a black chalkboard. On the wall are a map of the United States and a portrait of George Washington. Part of the American flag is visible hanging over the blackboard. Beside the picture is the text, "And let's not forget keeping politics out of our schools. We strive to keep politics out of our schools, ensuring that the school's focus is on creating a positive and effective learning environment for ALL children."

The strangest thing happened today. We went to the uninhabited island of Lunga, west of Mull, to look at the puffins nesting there. I was just taking photos when I felt a thump as something landed quite heavily in my head. It was a puffin! It stayed for about a minute before flying off.

A man with his back to the camera, wearing a blue jacket and a grey woolen hat. A puffin is sitting on top of his head. On the left, an arm holding a mobile phone can be seen. In the background, a green slope and the sea beyond. In this photo the puffin is taking off.

Think of the children's impressionable minds blah blah whatever, but what even is the POINT of playing Eminem and Rihanna's 'Love the Way You Lie' if you're gonna Radio Edit out the "If she ever tries to fuckin leave again" part???

The groundhog that lives under my back porch trundled his way around the corner of the house, expecting the porch to be empty and his route to his hole to be unobstructed, but surprise! I was sitting out there with a book! We were both a little startled.

An hour ago I was suddenly possessed--and I use that word intentionally--to empty out and wipe down my fridge while it's largely empty pending tomorrow's grocery run. Inexplicably compelled to complete a task that's been backburned in my brain for months! And now it's done! Wtf!
