Last night’s @eastmemphisdems.bsky.social picnic benefiting Peabody Elementary was a rousing success. As the club’s founding president, I’m excited to see it continuing great works for the community.

Couldn’t get my shift covered, so just took an official vote as an @tndems.bsky.social EC member on a zoom call, whilst hiding in dry storage of the restaurant I work at. Nailing the whole Elected Official/Bartender lifestyle.

Although I’m unopposed in my race for re-election to the @tndems.bsky.social Executive Committee, I took the time to fill out an application for an endorsement from the Tennessee College Dems. This was my favorite question, and I hope I answered it succinctly. #FuckICE.

On Tuesday, we honored the memory of Representative GA Hardaway the best way we knew how, with 25 of us sporting his trademark “bow tie.” He may be gone, but he most certainly will not be forgotten.

Let’s come together to remember one of Memphis’ most progressive leaders.

Wasting $300,000,000 taxpayer dollars that could be used for our public schools? That’s the sign of a real dummy.

We live in a sorry state of affairs when the Supermajority of our State Legislature actively works to defund our public schools.

The Expanded Voucher Program, $300 Million of your tax dollars will be subsidizing Private Schools, with most of their families already having their students in these schools. This legislation abandons the promise of a quality education for all children in Tennessee.

We’re seeing a mass rejection of Trumpism. Every special election is evidence that now’s the time to push hard for change in leadership in states that have been harmed by corporate-first, family-last policies. It’s time for change. Let’s get to work and deliver these results for Tennessee!

This was a 31 point swing in a district Trump won by 17 points. In related news, no Democrat in Shelby County has pulled a petition to run in: TN House 95: Vaughn (mostly Collierville) TN House 99: Leatherwood (mostly Millington) TN Senate 31: Taylor (Eastern Shelby) It’s time for folks to step up.

Update on Road Conditions here in Memphis: It looks like roads are clear enough for food deliveries, so expect store shelves to slowly be resupplied. Roads are still a bit rough, so I'd only go out if you need to. Stay safe and warm!
