With an isolated traumatic event, stability is how the nervous system learns it is safe and that it does not need to constantly scan for threats. Without prolonged stability, the nervous system never gets that signal.

I feel like a lot of my intellectualism was fed by reading C.S Lewis and G. K. Chesteron in grade school & reading a lot of early 20th century literature. I think these guys were really onto something. Would love to see it and an appreciation for logic & reason make a comeback.
