As a reminder, I'll be at @liretro.bsky.social this weekend! I'm lucky enough to be on two panels (Saturday w/ @retronauts.bsky.social & Sunday w/ @mylifeingaming.bsky.social) as well as in the marketplace selling Arzette stuff. Come say hello!

This one somehow slipped under my radar completely: a Java based remake/port of Zelda's Adventure. It even has randomizer support! Will definitely be checking it out later. github.com/nebbii/za-gdx

I played the game recently and I kinda love it. Got a kick when I found out Vinny from Vinesauce was voicing in the game. Give Arzette a shot if you got some cash around, it a very silly time. #Arzette #indiegame
I'm very lucky that many games I've worked on have been available physically, and that Arzette got a physical release (including retail in Europe). As other devs will also tell you, there is no better feeling than having a physical manifestation of your work in your hands.
I finished "Fuck's Quest II" last night after seeing a few folks talk about it. Unreasonably fun, surprisingly clever at times (insane to say about a game with a fart spell), and, for those who know me, a game firmly in my wheelhouse. I recommend it!
Myself and every person I work with professionally right now (including those who have been programming longer than I've been alive) refuse to touch AI with a ten foot pole. Maybe I am in a bubble. Speaking only for me, I will fight it tooth and nail.
Indie devs are in a tough spot: don't use AI, and watch everyone else ship games x5 faster than you or use it and be damned. I don't think there are many coders left that are not using AI agents for coding right now, it's just that effective (been coding games for 28 years, professionally for 20)
Hopefully this means we will eventually get the actual Destiny 2 remastered as well. Exciting!
Tales of Eternia Remastered announced, out Oct 16
Realised I hadn't posted my Arzette animation from last year here yet. I was desperate to have a go at these characters lol, so I came up with whatever this is. Could def do it better now, but still quite like it.
Arzette, from Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore. Voted for by my patrons for May's character poll.
Meet one of the main figures behind porting retro games for modern systems as Limited Run Games development director and lead on the iconic Carbon Engine, @seth.games Seth Fulkerson heads to LI Retro this August 7-9. See what he has in store next this summer at LI Retro! LIRetro.com
I didn't play most 'classic' game consoles until long after they were off the market. This strange phenomenon is known as 'growing up lower class'.
Laughing so hard at this Youtube comment on a video of a PS1 booting up that makes it sound like the PS1 is a dearly missed relative that has passed away, and not a game console you can still buy for like fifteen quid.
I can't be mad at dying repeatedly in Moon Child Friend Edition, even if I wish I had more power than the friendship one (the snakes and birds are not friendly), because I get to return to the title screen to let the theme song soothe my frustrations before diving back in.
everyone's on moon child rn but you can pick any random amiga game and the odds are good you're about to get blasted with the dance anthem of the next 5 centuries
To the surprise of no one, this was a nightmare during Arzette's development as well. Multi-platform video playback is no joke!
1000xResist creator: the game industry needs a universal video codec for FMV games
GG @timoflegend.bsky.social! My wife's primary hobby is pottery so this game is a delight to share with her.
Had a fun and productive GDC! My only regret was not catching up with more folks in person...until next time!
I finally framed the map of Faramore. To anyone who got Arzette's collector's edition, the map is exactly 18" x 18"!
Happy to finally announce this! It’s been a privilege to work with such a beloved brand. Especially cool to bring back one of the best arcade beat-’em-ups ever (with rollback netcode courtesy of our amazing partners at Komi Games). Excited for folks to be able to play this…soon!
Marvel Super Heroes, assemble! Presenting, MARVEL MaXimum Collection! Featuring 13 illustrious games, preserved across all their console and handheld counterparts. Including X-Men: The Arcade Game, Maximum Carnage, and more! Take to the streets, and welcome to MARVEL MaXimum Collection!
Just wrapped up my first completely blind playthrough of @arzettegame.bsky.social. Incredibly charming, genuinely funny, and, more importantly than being an homage, it is unsurprisingly excellent. I loved every minute. Big congrats to @seth.games and the dev team. And a big hello from OBKY, Dopply!
The first game had one of the funniest original tracks I've ever heard from one of these simulator type games (and goes kinda hard ngl) youtu.be/OIs7Uq3Jehc

I'll be at GDC March 10-12th! Please reach out if you wanna find some time to talk all things Carbon Engine/retro releases or simply catch up. Looking forward to it!
JAWS: Retro Edition from the Carbon Team is out and you get to check out the unreasonably good JAWS: Enhanced Edition as part of it! Jeremy and Patrick truly killed it. It's shockingly good!
Happy Jawsday to you all. Looks like the @limitedrungames.com digital version of Jaws: Retro Edition is up (someone even sent me a nice note about it!), so let me start your day by telling you that the Enhanced Edition included as part of the reissue kicks ass. (I'm biased, though; I designed it)

A lot of you are picking up Arzette for the holidays, which means a lot more than I can properly articulate. I don’t take it for granted. If you’re playing it for the first time (or replaying it) I’d love to hear your thoughts. Happy holidays, everyone.
Seasons greetings from the Arzette team! Unwrap the game on sale for up to 75% off Arzette on select platforms this holiday season. Your support enables us to keep creating; we sincerely appreciate it. Have a very safe & happy holiday! PC: bit.ly/3ZSc4qQ SW: bit.ly/48od4Wl PS: bit.ly/49c9JLe
been playing Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore for the past few days, it's a pretty fun game reminiscent of the Zelda CD-i series #pixelart #pixel_art #art #artist #fanart #indiegame #arzettethejeweloffaramore #arzette #indieplatformer #lospec
