Middle-aged trans woman surviving the apocalypse with baking, flowers/trees, silly times with my kid, and some righteous indignation.

"The Democrats" aren't any one thing on trans rights. Saying "The Democrats are better" isn't meaningful, because even if 85% of Democrats are great on trans rights, it only takes ~10 willing to vote with the Republicans to further strip our rights. It strikes me as naîve to think that Dems who..1/

I'm not a fan of teams. Perhaps I'm just not a joiner, but even when I generally agree, I can't stand the rah-rah defensive circle people make around their team, the reflected glory they id with, the othering of different teams. I'm a registered Dem. I've voted Dem since 1992. I don't abstain. 1/

Having done a fair amount of genealogy in my time, I think that might be one area where AI could be useful. Despite its fabulist tendencies, it couldn't possibly make up more bullshit, especially wrt famous ancestors, than amateur genealogists do.

It seems apparent that some Dems have never considered that some trans people might have the means to donate to their campaigns, but will not do so If they say shit like "biological males." Sure, I'll begrudgingly VBNMW, but you're not getting a dime from me if you do anti-trans stuff.

There is a creator on IG (@defenestrans) that describes anti-trans bigots as centering their "icky tummy feelings," which I think is perfect. Listening to the same pseudo-scientific bullshit these people try to use to dress up their queasy feelings with the imprimatur of authority is so boring. 1/

This is the linear progression from presenting trans women in sports, bathrooms, etc. as predator super soldiers, possessing some supercharged version of male strength and aggression. You can't say "but sports!" and pretend that it exists as an independent issue - it's all part of the same bigotry.

A Tennessee appellate court has ruled that the killing of a woman may have been justifiable because she was trans. The court reversed a conviction, stating that the killer could have a new trial because the jury did not know the woman killed was trans. Trans panic in the modern era.

Anyone who is still posting about Bernie Bros and 2016 as relevant in 2026 is nursing a grudge and clutching a soothing scapegoat rather than providing anything like useful analysis or forward strategy. 1/

Leftist, progressive, centrist, socialist—while there are certainly anarchists, communists, etc. that envision political structures fundamentally different than the way USian society has been structured, I'd say 99% of the non-Rs involved in these arguments are just liberal or conservative Democrats

🧵 "Not all men" is both prima facie true in an individual context and useless societally. For an individual woman interacting with men, it doesn't matter b/c men are all potential predators. We humans, collectively, are responsible. Because rape culture and patriarchy are the same thing. 1/

There’s a person in my personal life who I am forced to deal with, and must be cordial with. They lie easily and constantly. I’ve reached a point with them, and more broadly in our world of constant b.s., where the lies infuriate me less than their belief that I can’t see through them.

A common fantasy I perceive on the right is that, at hand, there is an Ultimate Victory over the left, trans people, "woke", socialism, or whatever triggers them. They seem to come back to bemoaning that we're all still here. This is, of course, dangerous to us as they resort to increasingly... 1/

Rewatching Léon The Professional for the first time in 30ish years, and horrified at the pedophilic gaze at Natalie Portman's ~12 yo character. Stopped watching as it became overt. Then looked up Luc Besson and realized - oh, he's one of Them. 🤮

I do think even if AI becomes as ubiquitous as its proponents would like it to be, there will remain a strong counter movement against it. As the world becomes more slop, as generic becomes supercharged, people will yearn for human-made things. The main question I have about that is whether…1/

I wonder sometimes whether TERFs have ever said or thought the phrase “I feel sexy [in this outfit, etc.]” in their lives. If not, how sad. If so, I regret to inform them they suffer from autogynephilia.

I feel like we don't often enough challenge the assumption baked into our capitalist society that more technology/features are inherently good. Yes, I'm talking about AI, which I think has forced that conversation into the mainstream, but also about technology in general. In fact, part of...1/

I've maintained some hope that the Republican trans obsession and their rank sadism towards trans people will eventually be offputting to voters who are, at a minimum, just tired of hearing about it. Despite some Dems doing their usual appeal-to-what-they-think-Rs-wanted-last-election-cycle...1/

I think the Dem candidates decrying “boys in girls’ sports” need to get the memo that the Repubs have already moved on to Phase II, where they dismantle Title IX. Buncha rubes these people are. The Democratic brand is bad because centrists are really, really bad at politics., not b/c of “woke."

Follow-on to this - anti-trans cis women who have any genuine feminist leanings really need to realize that they are being played - that by convincing you to attack trans women, cis men not only avoid the heat, they get you to disparage and attack your natural allies in the fight against misogyny.

Trans women vehemently protest rape culture & patriarchal privilege that shields white cis men from accountability. Trans women fight for abortion access and universal childcare. Imagine if anti-trans activists used their wealth and privilege to do the same. We might actually "protect women."

I have the hardest time knowing, when I read anti-trans comments/posts, whether the perpetrators are obtuse willingly or unwillingly. I get tempted to argue with them, but I might as well argue with a roach that infiltrated my house why doing so was a bad idea.
