Yesterday, Josuar Gonzalez played second base for the first time in Low-A (12 games). In the ACL, Gonzalez and Hernández traded spots at shortstop every few days. They haven’t at San Jose. Very notably…Luis Hernández was not in yesterday’s lineup. Lorenzo Meola took SS.

Late on this, but this return for Ray is a bit better than I expected. In the Giants system, Mendez probably will rank in the mid-teens, with J. Hernandez in the late teens or even low-20’s. That’s more a statement on the depth of the SF system compared to SD.
Newest SF Giants RHP Anthony Molina, 24 years old, coming over from the Braves. He has a career 6.89 ERA in the Majors, but all but three of those games came with Colorado; this year he had a 5.40 ERA in three relief big league appearances. He's had a 3.64 ERA in AAA this year.
This probably doesn't matter to most of my followers, but I'm watching Angels affiliate Rancho Cucamonga play the absolute worst defensive game I've seen in a long time against San Jose. They have committed seven errors, leading to six unearned runs...it's still the 4th inning.

Exhaustive research confirms that Bryce Eldridge's home run off Bryce Miller is the first Bryce-off-Bryce home run in MLB history. Important to append, however: Brice Turang (who obviously spells his name differently) hit a home run against Bryce Elder in 2023.
