Playing devil's advocate: Tomiyasu, Mingueza and Le Guen (if he signs) give Palace really adequate options at CB without a major signing. Does it feel like replacing big-money departures has been done on the cheap? Yes. But is there suitable cover for a decent PL season? Yes.
Of all the clichés used in transfer reporting, I'm particularly intrigued by the word 'raid' often being used to describe a fringe player potentially leaving Team A for Team B after relatively protracted period of rumour.
Really feel like Palace's socials/general media output could be quite a bit better. Not explicitly clear on the Twitter account who we're playing against tonight. Only mention of the opposition is a tiny, weeny badge on the graphic that you can't even click on without it taking you to the website.
It's noticeable, too, that there wasn't a single question on the climate, at a time when Europe is experiencing catastrophic wild-fires & record-breaking heat. It's astonishing how low down the political agenda this remains in Britain, when all the environmental indicators are signalling disaster.

Watching the England highlights, primarily because I completely forgot that game was happening. Couple of observations: 1) The Spence penalty incident is more of a 'leaves his leg dangling' than vs Norway! 2) I'm begging Konsa to check over his shoulder just for once 3) Palace domination
While for many that sash evokes memories of '76, for me it's the Moses/Watson/Clyne/Scannell/Hills team of 08-09. Finished 15th that season but that was a fun team with plenty of local talent. Just looking on Wiki and 11 academy graduates made appearances that season.

I like the Mingueza signing, and always quite nice when a transfer takes you by surprise. Admittedly not on social media much at all but I hadn't seen any speculation/reporting on that.
This, but also I've never seen someone so scared of a naff Daily Mail headline. He's not done or said anything candid since the reaction to him saying during the election campaign that he wanted to spend Friday evenings with his family.

I see Glasner to Forest as a bit more like Agent Glasner rather than frustration. There's very little chance he replicates his success with Palace at Forest. And when he doesn't, it will end bitterly. That's if his relationship with their owner hasn't deteriorated within a mere few months.
