People have been asking what kinds of projects we want to support with the FutureHouse Fellowship. We are building new AI tools for research, and we want outstanding early-career researchers to use those tools to make new scientific discoveries. Some possible examples: 1/6
First we had hypothesis-driven research. But our measurement techniques have become so high-throughput that investigating one hypothesis at a time seems poorly suited to the task. 1/n

This is big: in collaboration with E11 Bio and @andrewcpayne.bsky.social, we are announcing today a new way to map brain circuits at scale. With improvements in AI and microscopy I think whole brain mouse and maybe human brain mapping will be feasible in ~5-10 years. 1/
