Orien thinks that after all Astarion went through with Cazador, his pleasure is a priority. Once Astarion feels safe enough to drop his seductive façade, he’s very vocal, cuddly, and clingy. I think Astarion loves bottoming, as he doesn’t have to worry about maintaining the perfect sexy façade.

Some of my newest art of Orien. Fun fact about him is that, despite his rough nature, he has a massive soft spot for his family. His mother only got to hold him once after his birth before they were forced to separate for 250 years, but after they reunite, it’s like they were never apart.

This is subject to change once Kingfisher’s book releases, but— I’ve always imagined that Astarion was a very spoiled, very well-loved child who was close with his parents. In my fic, I had him remember some items from his childhood and eventually reunite with his parents.

This is Orien’s mama, Aimsir. She only got to hold him once before having to say goodbye to him for his safety (long story). They reunited 200 years later, and she was the first to give Astarion her blessing when he told her and Janus that he was going to propose to Orien.

Orien was born with blue eyes, but his left eye got infected with the shadow curse several years pre-canon (long story) and his right eye got severe cataracts after his opponent slashed it during a sword fight. He is blind, with very limited nearsighted vision in his right eye.

Orien would have trouble choosing between Astarion and Sorn (his late past gf) because the grief is still fresh for him, and also because it’s hard to compare a dom lady to a submissive man in terms of the sexual experiences they can provide. He loves them both dearly and Astarion understands this.

I love Minthara but my character is callous and didn't care abt sparing her, so my headcanon is that his 'killing blow' didn't actually kill her and he just didn't realize it at the time. Once it's time for recruitment, he's like 'whatever' and lets her join, but then they eventually become friends.
