I love calculating & chasing eclipses, shadows, transits, occultations on faraway worlds. The sun, moon & planets are my friends 'cause I got class 8-9 bortle sky.
Got it! Lunar Occultation of Venus from Kuala Lumpur, 14 Sep 2026, under extremely hazy sky. Moon and Venus were invisible with the naked eye due to the thick haze and low altitude. #astronomy #astrophotography #occultation #venus #moon
This gonna be close! Moon and Venus already disappear from naked eye due to thick haze. My last hope is through the scope!
Been exploring a new hobby for while. Really cool. Now what I need is just to 3D print a big binoscope …. 😈
Slightly more than 2 yeas ago, witnessed an incredible Saturn rising from the Moon. A once in a lifetime experience!
Lunar occultation of Saturn. July 25th 2024. Those rare nights when I got clear sky, at the right moment during rare events!! woo hooo ! #astronomy #astrophotography

It has been a loooong time I've posted anything related to astrophotography. Taking a loong break from social media, too depressing. This was Venus taken yesterday evening, July 13th, 2026. The only bright planet visible in the evening sky right now. #astronomy #astrophotography
Also: SE Asia and Australia sees an occultation of the star Rho Leonis by the Moon just a few hours after the Regulus event tomorrow night:
FYI if you’re talking about the #Artemis II mission and you want to get the spaceflight terminology right, the mission is “crewed,” not “manned.” (NASA made the terminology change official decades ago, so this isn’t new, but a lot of folks just aren’t aware.)
A short Jupiter animation (20 mins) from last night observation. Europa is transiting from the left. 2026-02-05 14:11 UTC There seems to be an outbreak on the SEB near GRS. It wasn't there the last time I was out (4-5 days ago). #astronomy #astrophotography
1st photo of Jupiter for 2026. Hazy sky. soften the view. 2026-01-24 14:12 UTC C9.25” F=2350mm (2x barlow) , Touptek 678MC ShahGazer Observatory, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia #astronomy #astrophotography
well hello there little fella Comet 24P/Schaumasse quick 20 mins shot this morning 2026-01-13 #dwarf3 #astronomy #astrophotography
A slightly detail view. Smaller ROI from Sharpcap, 640x640. Collected about 20k frames, and stacked the best 10%. AR4294, AR4296 #astronomy #astrophotography
Day-13 - OK confirm last one! AR4294 & AR4296 2025-12-12 00:57 UTC SW 120ED 2x barlow (F=1800mm). Lunt Solar Wedge imppg, PixInsight ShahGazer Observatory, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia #astronomy #astrophotography
12-days of observation. Weather prospect is not good for tomorrow, so I guess this will be my final sequence on AR4294 & AR4296. #astronomy #astrophotography
Day-12 - final sequence AR4294 & AR4296 2025-12-11 02:33 UTC The sky was so cloudy this morning that the image came out soft, and I don’t think it will get any better in the day goes by. Probably my last sequence. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia #astronomy #astrophotography
11-days of continuous observation on sunspot groups AR4294 and AR4296 I think this exceeds my previous record back in 2011-2012 #astronomy #astrophotography
Day-11. AR4294 & AR4296 2025-12-10 01:49 UTC High clouds, but slightly better seeing. Both groups are already facing away. Making it a bit tricky to compare the size to Earth. ShahGazer Observatory, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia #astronomy #astrophotography
Day-10 - 2025-12-09 02:11 UTC AR4294 and AR4296 are slowly turning away from us, towards the western limb. Sky was not perfect, high and low clouds. Couldn't get enough frames for better signal-noise ratio. ShahGazer Observatory, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia #astronomy #astrophotography
Day-9. 2025-12-08 02:10 UTC AR4294 & AR4296 Thin high clouds today, thus making the view softer and less 'crispy'. Both sunspot groups are now beginning to turn away from Earth, moving towards the west limb of the Sun. ShahGazer Observatory, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia #astronomy #astrophotography
Day-8 observation on AR4294 and AR4296 Seeing condition was below average. Fluffy fast flying low clouds creating non-stop turbulence. 2025-12-07 01:49 UTC SW 120ED 2x barlow (F=1800mm). Lunt Solar Wedge imppg, PixInsight ShahGazer Observatory, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia #astronomy #astrophotography
Day-7 observation on sunspot groups AR4294, AR4296 and.. i'm already exhausted! Seeing was not great this morning. Creating havoc when I tried combining the two frames in ICE. The seeing changed alot within 30 minutes! 2025-12-06 02:46 UTC ShahGazer Observatory, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
6 days of sunspots evolution. AR4296 and AR4294 OK, this is getting really tricky to arrange. :-} #astronomy #astrophotography
