I have spent more than 2 weeks with the 3yo while her day care was undergoing renovation and I have answered ALL the questions that have ever been asked. I've tried pleading the 5th but the 3yo has formed her own kingdom where the constitution is not recognized. I am now under Poopie Law.

A work in progress with great potential.
3yo stack from the library! Plus she won her very own Junie B. Jones book and a pencil for successfully finding dinosaurs during her first scavenger hunt. I just love @buffalolibrary.bsky.social
The advice of my 3yo writing coach for my novel is to make certain that I use ALL the letters. "All? " "ALL OF THEM!" #writing
I’m with the 3yo for the next 2 1/2 weeks until her daycare reopens and see a lot of similarities between her and any random influencer who is filled with lots of opinions with little to no evidence or experience to back up her claims. Thankfully she doesn’t have a mic and can’t stream
The smoke is so strong in Buffalo right now that it feels like a campfire is burning in my apartment. Even Stella has little interest in going out. She keeps sniffing the air and then returns to her bed.
Nothing is sadder than biting into a flavorless peach. Hopefully this one is an anomaly.
My high school French teacher would be so proud that I can still belt out “0 Canada” en français. #WorldCup
On Mother’s Day I wound up having a long chat with an elderly neighbor. We had more of a casual waving to each other relationship before that. I mentioned that I am writing a novel and since then everyday she asks me if I’m still writing. She’s the best motivator! I don’t want to disappoint her.
My youngest is home from school and Stella has taken over his suitcase. 4 beds and a couch are not enough for her.
We totally chose the wrong name for our dog. She’s not a Stella. She’s the spirit of Gladys Kravitz. She rarely cares about individual people that pass us on our walks but let two people be in a conversation and she’s all in their business. If someone is across the street she’s immediately on alert.
Lately I've taken to drinking my morning coffee and writing a little before our long walk. I turned around to catch Stella staring daggers at me. Obviously she does not like the new habit.

One of the most frustrating aspects of living in Buffalo for a NYC girl is the fact that sidewalks, bus stops and crosswalks are seldom plowed or shoveled. Walking in the street isn't the safest as Buffalo drivers are incredibly hostile to pedestrians.
A letter written by John Adams to Abigail after his first night spent in the unfinished President's House: "I pray heaven to bestow the best of blessings on this house and all that shall hereafter inhabit. May none but honest and wise men ever rule under this roof." #WhiteHouse
This is just so fabulous!
Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again. #Pinks #ProudBlue
I just needed this today!
There is beauty in this world. Watching this video now. Later on, I'll go patrol my kid's school at dismissal time to try to keep the kids safe from their own fucking goddamn government amid reports of *increased* ICE activity. Some drawdown. Anyway, though, MAVIS: youtu.be/2WmlUXsjSv8?...
In solidarity with today's ICE OUT OF MINNESOTA blackout, MinnMax is donating $1 to the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota for every share of this Bluesky post for the next hour.
Forecast said little to no accumulation of snow here in Buffalo so it seemed like a good idea to head to the library and the snow until that lake effect snow hit with white out conditions and sideways snow. Happy to be home with books, movies, food and wine. Happy New Year’s Eve!
Last night’s viewing courtesy of @buffalolibrary.bsky.social was The Conversation written and directed by Francis Ford Coppola. I wonder if such a nuanced film like this would get a green light from any studio today.
A little whispered inspiration at one of my favorite local cafes while working on my novel after grabbing coffee with a friend.
I discovered my local @buffalolibrary.bsky.social has an extensive collection of Criterion Collection films. I’ve let most of the streaming services go. Amazon Prime was the last to go. I’d forgotten how great DVDs are with commentaries and trailers.
Google’s AI informed me that the writer T.S. Eliot’s second wife Valerie died in a car explosion on Law & Order SVU. If AI is the future, I’m going back to the encyclopedia.
So why hasn’t Anna Delvey (Sorkin), an actual criminal who over stayed her visa while committing crimes been deported? Wasn’t all of this supposed to be about getting rid of criminals?
It was great to go to the Central Library in downtown Buffalo today to see so many kids and teenagers there for the first day of spring break.
Took a 6 mile walk to Canalside this morning with Stella. She doesn't look it but she's 12 now and still loves a long walk (as long as the weather is nice and it's not Buffaloing too much)
