Kicking off the Christmas season with a festive mug. (Yes, I will have candy for trick-or-treaters and yes, I will eat turkey on the designated Thursday, but I am soaking up as much Christmas spirit as I can this year.)

A teacup with a Grinch holding Holly Lou Who while a ring of little Whoville residents ring the base of the cup. Next to it is a notebook open on a laptop.

I started my Christmas shopping early this year! Sure, it's a gift for myself but LOOK AT THIS GORGEOUS BOOK! I very rarely buy print because I have eyeballs of a certain age, but I had to have this one. (I didn't share the beautiful endpaper illustration. You should get a copy!)

Hardcover edition of A Married Little Christmas by Abby Jimenez.Sprayed edges of green holly leaves and red berries against light blue.

AOC: "As AI begins to encroach in our society, their goal is to take your cognition away from you. AI's goal is to take your thoughts away from you, your ability to think away from you, so that you become dependent on a machine ... reading books is active resistance"

So my husband had cataract surgery and I’ve been doing city driving, and I’m told I sing the same verse & chorus of “Winter Wonderland” over & over when deep in it. Today I caught myself & I realized it has the right inhalation spots to keep me from clenching my jaw and holding my breath.

I fear the Dem leadership has ceded NH. Much of my district's ballot was blank yesterday, or uncontested races. (Including governor. Only one Democrat in the state was willing to run for governor?) And the senate race is going to be brutal. Well, I'm not ceding shit. We need to get loud for Pappas.

I love that I get dozens of text messages from Dems running in NH every day, and when I finally respond to one asking me if I have any questions with an actual question, I get no response. It won't change my vote because my pettiness is 0% important, but seriously?

Made the drive to the B&N in the southern part of the state and finally found a copy of HER FAVORITE FUMBLE in the wild! (Luckily, they had two months of the series romance out, so last month’s were still on the shelves.)

Holding a paperback copy of Her Favorite Fumble up in front of the Barnes & Noble romance shelves. Cover has a couple smiling at each other while holding hands and walking on a rugged, rocky beach with a sunset behind them. He has short dark hair and is wearing an olive Henley shirt and worn jeans. He’s holding a football in his free hand. She has long, curly red hair and is wearing a blue hoodie and jeans.

Finding it hard to be creative in this spike of panic in the midst of the usual perpetual dread because a dipshit is being hostile and petty with our neighbors, and that neighbor controls my electricity and heat. When our neighbor finally (and justifiably) flexes, I only hope it's not Jan or Feb.

Somebody in Wales is going to keep on having a wrong driving license because they used my email address with the DVLA and now don't have the instructions on fixing it. Rather than AI, I wish the techies had built a system to forward important wrong emails to and it could sort them.

I’m writing a Harlequin Intrigue! Angst and danger in rugged northern New Hampshire will be coming your way in the future. A lot of angst. A lot of danger. And a man who’ll do anything to keep his ex-wife safe from a twisted serial killer.

"Call Tony" (regarding a broken trash bin) has been carried over on my weekly to-do list every week since early February. Today I called Tony, and according to my phone, it took one minute. Did I learn anything from this? Probably not. BUT I CALLED TONY!

I can't believe people are still traveling here voluntarily (the number of tourists I was around yesterday 😐). I mean, my family's been here like 400 years and I'm afraid to hop over into Canada because I'm afraid I won't be allowed back in after they ignore my rights and rummage through my phone.
