Love Birds, Wildlife and being outdoors.
Local walk yesterday and nice to see the Whinchat doing well, three different families seen with at least 3 young with each. Only seen the one Female bird, maybe sitting on a second clutch. #birdingwales #birdsseenin20026 #birds
Managed to find some time before work yesterday to go view the Long Tailed Shrike in Gloucestershire, cracking bird and a lifer for me. #birdsseenin2026 #birds
Seeing the invasive Mink on the rivers more and more lately but not often carrying a mole to feed the kits.
One of several male Whinchat seen over the last week or so on the Brecon Beacons, alert and on the lookout around their nest sites. #birdingwales #birdsseenin2026 #birds #whinchat
Quail singing in the Llia valley Brecknockshire today 28.06.26
With all the Quails being reported I was happy to find two singing males today in the Llia valley with one giving a flight view. @brecknockbirder.bsky.social #birdingwales #birdsseenin2026 #birds
The Nightjar I found a couple of weeks ago has now got two young, one in pic taken 21.06.26 #birdingwales #birdsseenin2026 #birds #nightjar
Been watching a pair of local Ring Ouzel on and off since April and last week they were busy back and fore the nest every several minutes feeding young. Only stopping every now and then to chase a Kestrel off. #birdingwales #birdsseenin2026 #birds
A couple of close up pics of Puffins taken on Skomer Island today @birdingwales @birdsseenin2026 @birds @puffin
Come across this Nightjar today while looking for woodcock, not its usual clearfell but metres off a farm road in a fern border. Can see a discarded eggshell in bottom of pic so guess she’s sitting on young. #birdingwales #birdsseenin2026 #birds
Great success looking for Nightjar tonight, at least 6 heard churring and these two spotted with the thermal singing from the tree tops. #birdingwales #birds #birdsseenin2026
Great couple of hours at Severn Beach after work, nice to see the usual faces there. 1 Leach’s Petrel 8+ Storm Petrel (pic) 2 Manxie 3 Fulmar 3 Gannet 1 Arctic Tern and a lucky Petrel that done well to evade 2 Peregrine @bristolbirding.bsky.social
Awesome views of the 1st recorded uk Mega Western Reef Heron at Caernarfon today, very smart bird and a lifer ✅ for me #birdingwales #birdguides #birdsseenin2026
Watched this Brown Hare go about its business from the comfort of the car, not going to get much better views than that🙂
Had the privilege of seeing this Tawny Owl and three Owlets branched out on Friday #birdsseenin2026 #birds
Sitting waiting to photograph a spotted flycatcher when this Doe Roe Deer and two Kids broke cover and made a dash for the woods, see them quite often in our valley but not out in the open.
Come across this Dog Fox over the weekend on one of the local farms, looks in great condition.
Always nice to see the Spotted Flycatchers and Garden Warblers return to our valley, several birds seen over the past few days. First decent photos I’ve taken of a GW they’re usually in thick cover. #birdingwales #birdsseenin2026 #birds
A few hours raptor watch this morning, 2 Honey 8 c Buzzards 2 Gos 1 Pere and a surprise Merlin. A LRP family (M/F 2+Juv) started feeding close by, 1 Juv came too close for my camera to focus at one point, 3rd year they’ve bred here. #birdingwales #birdsseenin2026
This morning was my 11th wander around @bannauBrycheineiog @VisitBeacons looking for Passage Dotterel, no Dotterel seen but kept good company with the Welsh mountain ponies
I spent an amazing hour yesterday with the amazingly stunning Red-Spotted Bluethroat down in Wareham, Dorset. #birds #wildlife #birdphotography
Great to see the #TreePipits back on their breeding grounds over the past few days. Taking a photo of one calling when it got photobombed by another. Also 1st Whinchat (male) seen. 2 NFY ✅ #birdingwales #birdsseenin2026 #birds
Mad dash home from work to catch up with the Woodchat Shrike that was showing well at Pembrey Burrows this evening. #birdingwales #birdsseenin2026 #birds
The Great Bustards were still displaying and strutting around Salisbury Plain, the Male would get up and chase another off every now and then. The reintroductions not to everyone’s taste but great to see and watch and glad they’re doing well. #birdsseenin2026 #birds
