The Cubs giving the ball to Caleb Thielbar at any point in a game with a lead against the Dodgers is a terrible decision. I don't know how much longer he can possibly stay on the team.

Things that interest me: most sports - I'm big into fantasy football, college basketball, Cubs baseball, and Michigan football/bball, lefty politics, music - all variations of rock and Americana, movies & TV, anything that distracts from the hellscape
PCA isn't just in the MVP conversation with Ohtani. He's the front-runner at this point IMO
Rough news for Brandon Aiyuk, whose only NFL suitor seemed to be the Commanders. His social media posts might've tanked his NFL career.
Former Patriots WR Stefon Diggs is set to sign with the Commanders, sources say. With an offseason at full health, Diggs is ready to hit the ground running as a key weapon for Jayden Daniels in Year 3. The QB-friendly WR should help.
The unbeatable Dodgers who are destroying baseball just lost Tarik Skubal's debut to drop their 5th game in a row. Go Cubs Go
I found one incident of a pro athlete since the onset of Covid who died on the field due to a heart-related incident. Raphael Dwamena, a soccer player in Albania...but he was diagnosed with arrythmia in 2017 and opted on his own to have an ICD removed in 2022, a year before he died. It wasn't Covid
Ron Johnson: "Aaron Rodgers was smart enough to take ivermectin when he got covid ... unfortunately, more people didn't follow him. We wouldn't have had as many of athletes falling unconscious, sometimes dead on the field of play. You've seen the video reels of this happening in 2021."
This motherfucker is loudly showing his whole ignorant ass over on the other site.
Liam Coen at Jaguars camp confirmed what should've already been clear to most people - Travis Hunter is going to be a full-time player on defense, and a part-time player on offense.
So the Cubs have added... Kevin Gausman Clay Holmes Ryan Zeferjahn Braxton Garrett Tyrone Taylor And gave up just one of their top-9 prospects and zero players who were on the current big league roster. Losing Rojas and Mo Baller may sting in the long run, but can't say Jed isn't going for it.
Clay Holmes and Tyrone Taylor to Cubs from Mets for Jefferson Rojas pending medicals
This seems like a bargain basement way to try to add a potential starter for 2027. Garrett was an up-and-coming young SP once upon a time before getting derailed by a UCL injury & Tommy John surgery. He was awful in 2 big league starts back in May, but has a 2.90 ERA in AAA this yr across 77.2 IP.
The Chicago Cubs are acquiring left-hander Braxton Garrett in a trade with the Miami Marlins, sources tell ESPN.
My pharmacy has never asked me for a photo ID to pick up a prescription.
Rep. John McGuire on need for the SAVE America Act: "You can't go anywhere, you can't get medicine, you can't go to the Obama museum without a photo ID."
Seems odd to mess with Shota's routine when he's been pitching so well. Imanaga's season kind of mirrors the team's... First 9 starts - 2.32 ERA, 2.4% HR rate Next 4 starts - 10.80 ERA, 12.4% HR rate Last 8 starts - 2.00 ERA, 2.8% HR rate
Javier Assad will now start tomorrow for Cubs in their series finale at the Cardinals. Shota Imanaga had been the probable starter.
This is irresponsible if you're in a league with 6-point passing TDs. There will be some natural TD regression (no QB has ever thrown for 40+ TDs in a season and followed it up with just as many or more TDs the next year), and of course there's no rushing production to offset that regression but...

Very funny to see people reacting to this post yesterday like 'WTF is this show?' This is the FIFTH season of it, and this cast is right in line with the 4 previous ones. A handful of retired athletes, a handful of washed celebs, and a handful of reality TV personalities.
This September, these folks will compete on the Special Forces tv show on Fox, where they will be subjected to military style challenges in Malaysian jungle.
More power to him. A market to bet on that shouldn't exist, but it does. Is there some sort of 'teleprompter operator code of ethics' that makes this improper, because I don't think there is. I mean, Kalshi literally has an ad where a guy wants to bet on alien sightings because he sees an alien.
ABC NEWS: ".. Trump's longtime teleprompter operator is believed to have made tens of thousands of dollars by placing bets on that speech and more than a dozen others .." abcnews.com/US/white-hou...
Homan's implication here is that the Dem rhetoric is putting ICE agents in danger, yet it's never the ICE agents' blood being shed.
Tom Homan: "It all go backs to the Dems ... there's still gonna be more bloodshed unless they shut their mouth and let ICE enforce the laws that they enacted."

Putting a guy who is known for something called 'Looksmaxxing' in a NYT article because of his looks is so fucking stupid. Like, the last thing in the world we need to be doing is validating and re-affirming CLaViCuLaR's life choices. Don't fucking encourage him.

Trump posting this kind of bigotry on his social media feed should be infinitely more newsworthy than the FIFA stuff, but we've just come to see it as normal for him. People barely even bat an eye at it.
Trump is now using his platform to attack kindergarteners because they are Muslim
FIFA has been full-on corrupt since long before Donald Trump was involved in politics. I don't think we need to be up in arms about rescinding the Balogun red card being some kind of affront to the integrity of FIFA and the World Cup.
Nice to see Jacob Misiorowski look mortal for a day, even if only 1 of the 5 runs he's allowed is technically 'earned'.
For the first time in his career, on his 4th NBA team, AJ Johnson will not be teammates with Khris Middleton. He was drafted by Milwaukee while Middleton was still there, and then was included in the deal both times Middleton was traded - to Washington in '24-'25, and to Dallas in '25-'26
The Memphis Grizzlies are trading Santi Aldama to the Dallas Mavericks for AJ Johnson, a protected 2030 Warriors first-round pick and two future second-round picks, sources tell ESPN.
I don't agree with the red card decision on Balogun, but I wonder how much of the call was based on his eye line. One of the first things I noticed on the replay is that he was looking down and not at the ball when the foul happened.
Jordan Wicks 2nd career save was a lot less stressful than his first. In his first save, last Sunday, he entered the game with a one-run lead, no outs, and the bases loaded. Today, in his 2nd save, he entered with entered with a 13-run lead that ballooned to 20 before it ended.
The Padres have a position player pitching in the 7th inning.
Dansby Swanson has played 538 games with the Chicago Cubs. He's hit multiple HRs in a game 6 times as a Cub. 3 of them are in the last 9 games. He's driven in 4 or more runs in a game 12 times. 4 of them are in the last 10 games.
If your daughter is going to warm the bench at the high school level because there's a trans girl/woman on her team, they were never getting an athletic scholarship to college.
Gluesenkamp Perez: "At town halls, what I saw was the people who were the most upset had spent the last 12 years driving their girls to sports practice & they view their best shot of their student going to college as an athletic scholarship. So when we rush to moralize we miss some of the nuance."
