Floribunda ‘Pretty Lady’. A gradual reveal of warm pink buds unfurl into soft, opaque petals washed with cream, apricot and the palest blush, each bloom carrying a darker centre that lends surprising depth and delicacy. Set against dark, blue-green foliage, the flowers seem almost luminous.

Taking a demure approach to elegance, is the Floribunda ‘Pretty Lady’.
Bred by Len Scrivens in Britain during the early 1990s, this rose possesses the sort of beauty that reveals itself gradually. Warm pink buds unfurl into soft, opaque petals washed with cream, apricot and the palest blush, each bloom carrying a darker centre that lends surprising depth and delicacy. Set against dark, blue-green foliage, the flowers seem almost luminous, their gentle colouring all the more striking for its restraint.
Introduced as part of the Easy-To-Love collection, Pretty Lady was bred as much for resilience as for beauty. Healthy, disease-resistant, and flowering freely in generous flushes throughout the season, it proves that elegance needn't be demanding.
Perhaps that is why the name suits it so well. It is not a rose that clamours for attention, but one whose beauty lies less in display than in perfect proportion.
The Floribunda ‘Pretty Lady’ should not be confused with the Hybrid Tea by Bédard introduced as “Pretty Lady Rose” in 2012 (sometimes shortened to just Pretty Lady) which is a deep magenta. Grower photo.
